Heli's are becoming an issue. A call to facepunch Posted: 08 Dec 2019 03:18 PM PST Scrap heli's and Minicoptors have been around for a while now. While on paper they are a phenomenal way to get around the map, they are being greatly abused for what i see as unintended quick gains. Things such as looting airdrops in mid air, looting the top of dome, looting the top of launch site main building. With the ease of use, minimal consequences of use, minimal cost to use, massive benefit, and difficulty to shoot down, they have become the main way to scoot around the map and get equipped faster, and easier. They massively take away from pvp, meaning less random encounters of two groups on the ground. They take away from the risk rust used to have. Finish a raid? fly the stuff out with no risk of running it back. Won a pvp battle on the ground? hop on the heli and be away from people running towards the shots in seconds. Overall The concept of the choppers was wonderful, they work wonderfully, and could have benefits, but they are ruining the core of the game, the high risk high reward aspect that rust has. Horses were a good addition because they came implemented with stamina and they are always on the ground (I won't talk about how they cant go down small ledges) So Facepunch, please take a step back from the air game and reassess the choppers. Find a way to tweak them to make them usable or craft able for incredible sums of materials. Maybe keep them on the staging branch only for now and play with them until the proper tweaks have been tuned to the style of game that rust is. Thanks for listening. Discuss away. Allow to reconnect to full servers within 1 minute of disconnect Posted: 08 Dec 2019 06:10 AM PST I have a very good internet, but sometimes my internet crashes for about 10 seconds, making me disconnect from the server, and in some cases there are 40 to 100 player queue servers that I disconnect from. I bet this happens to many other people as well, so maybe after an unintentional disconnect, like internet crash or game crash players should be able to join back within 1 minute of the disconnect, instead of having to wait through a queue. There needs to be a short equip time for after you jump off a horse Posted: 08 Dec 2019 05:15 PM PST It is actually probably the worst part of the game right now. Nobody should be able to come full speed at you with a db, jump off and two tap you before you can even hear them. Its fucking stupid that there is no delay between when you jump off and when you can shoot. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Dec 2019 07:27 PM PST Hi yall Ive been having an issue with rust where I just get this message Steam:AuthTicket Canceled when I try to join any server. I have scoured the internet and tried any solution I found but nothing has worked. Posted: 08 Dec 2019 09:56 PM PST In the new video for the instruments DLC on the home screen there's a wooden base on fire behind the two guys on a boat. I thought it was pretty damn funny myself. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Dec 2019 03:48 PM PST Any interest in playing rust with a heavier emphasis on survival than on PvP? I started working on a set of mods that would make rust most 'realistic' (at least in my eyes) a while back and was wondering if it would be worth getting back into. A few examples of mods that I did complete: Hemorrhage: increase bleed damage per tick based off of how much you are bleeding. Syringe-bleed: if you're bleeding when you use syringe, you still get the instant heal but no heal-over-time (and it increases your bleeding) Bandage nerf: bandages only heal if you're bleeding (Todo: or too cold?) And only stop a portion of the bleeding if it is heavy. Other ideas that I did not get around to implementing would be no instant cover (or at least nerfed), food spoilage, nerfing water healing, as well as a number of other ideas. [link] [comments]
Hi Yall. Got an instrument question. Posted: 08 Dec 2019 09:29 PM PST Has anyone had any experience using the drums with MIDI? I'm putting together a bunch of songs for a 5 man band, and can't get the drums working. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Dec 2019 09:23 PM PST What would've better value per dollar, A RX 5700XT for $500, or a RX 580 for $250? What's better value for rust? It's an extra $300 onto my build and I'm on a Tight Budget, any help? [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Dec 2019 08:33 PM PST I have been subbed to this sub for like 3 months now and I don't even play rust. It is... Interesting to say the least, but keeps me entertained. This has convinced me to buy it eventually. Excited to suffer with you all! [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Dec 2019 10:38 AM PST I know there are a lot of people like me in this game who, too often, leave their best items in a box waiting to be learned... just to never use them. Use them. KCMO made an Escape from Tarkov video before he switched channels where he talks about this and it's always stuck with me as a very helpful gaming advice video in general. It basically just talks about how so many players develop real anxiety over using their best items for fear of losing them...but the problem is you aren't maximizing your potential when you do that. If you get something like say a salvaged hatchet, but take it home and shove it in a box until you get T2, you just slowed your wood gather potential. Also consider that you were just gonna use metal hatchets anyway...then metal hatchets will still be there to fall back on if you lose the salvaged. The potential extra wood is worth the risk of losing it. I'm not saying don't learn items or save them to be learned at all... I'm just saying consider how long that item might sit in that box for and what, if you just used it, advantages it would give you short term. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. If you can use a better tool or weapon to increase your odds of survival/bring home more loot faster that's when you get the snowball effect. Look at your favorite streamers and youtubers. Most things they find are on the table to use even if the haven't learned them. They basically learn what they can as they have the scrap to do it but otherwise don't let whether they have a BP inhibit their use of the item. Yes there will be times where you die with it after achieving nothing and go "See! I knew this was a bad idea!" It might even happen many times in a row at times... but over a long period of time the amount that it's going to improve your experience is going to take you further in the game. TLDR using items and losing them >>> saving items in a box and logging for the wipe without even using it. [link] [comments] |
