Describe when you started playing Rust with a game detail that has since been patched out. Posted: 25 Feb 2020 11:26 AM PST For me, High Quality Metal used to be gathered randomly when mining metal nodes, not just at the end. [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Feb 2020 08:19 PM PST A while ago, Zukey made a great video on how detrimental skins being downloaded during gameplay was for people with bad internet, and how even with itemskins.0 enabled they would still download. This led to facepunch making some great changes that included having all the skins as a part of the actual game updates, which means there would be no workshop downloads. This was all fine and dandy until a couple months ago. Once again, there are skins being downloaded after updates, even with itemskins.0 being enabled in console. I didn't think much of it at first since I was somewhere with good internet, but now I am playing on shit internet again and it makes it literally unplayable. Please stop the fucking workshop downloads during gameplay that you cant pause. I can't play my favorite game anymore because of it. :( please fix this for next update it's killing me [link] [comments]

!!Train tracks should generate and a Train should periodically spawn similarly to Cargo Ship!! Posted: 25 Feb 2020 01:24 PM PST EDIT: Would be a cool feature for someone to somehow make for a custom map, I can totally see why it would be too OP in a vanilla server. I think it would be awesome if a set of train tracks generated near the edge of the land that spans around the entire map. At one end of the map, some pregenerated structure (it would look sorta similar to just the exterior of military tunnels) would generate with a tunnel on both ends that would not be enterable by players, this is just so that when the Train eventually spawns, it actually looks as if it goes somewhere out of sight, as opposed to just randomly appearing/disappearing out of thin air. It would periodically spawn the same exact way Cargo ship periodically spawns, and would also contain some amount of timed crates and other loot crates. The Train would be continuously moving no matter what, and could not be controlled by players, just like Cargo ship. Since it is a Train, it would obviously be going quite fast, either faster or maybe just as fast as a horses sprinting speed. Players could obviously board the Train by jumping from aircraft, or using the same mechanic as is used to board Cargo, waiting for Cargo to pass you by and then pressing E to climb on ladders. In terms of gameplay, the Train would also contain NPC scientists to fight. Also, since it's on land it would be more easily accessible for players of all tiers in the server to board and potentially loot, maybe this should mean the loot shouldn't be as good as Cargo? Or perhaps it should be as good as Cargo since the easy entry would mean more players to attack/defend from. Finally, just to throw some imagery in your head.. Imagine being at your base and hearing the roar of the train horn in the distance alerting you and everyone in the vicinity that the train is approaching, you drop what you're doing and run over, wait for the train to pass and jump onto one of the Train cars and fight your way from one end to the other, with a timed crate on both the very front car and the very back car, (who knows how many Train cars there would be but for now lets just say somewhere between 5-8. If you're struggling to picture this in your head, just imagine the moving train from GTA Online, only more detailed, and different types of train cars, maybe even some with interiors, but plenty of cover to hide behind (probably the same type of boxes/barrels/pipes etc. clutter that you'd see on oil rig or Cargo) I think it would be amazing, chaotic fun, because there would be an almost constant stream of action due to how accessible it would be for all tiers of players to hop on. The train would spawn inside the aforementioned tunnel where it would emerge from, and follow the tracks all the way around the map, until it enters the other side of the tunnel it started in. Let me know what you guys think! [link] [comments] |
