Probably make the scene more musical. Only downside is it could be seen as PTW because most instruments are DLC. [link] [comments] | ||

| New player finally turning a corner! Posted: 23 Feb 2020 09:58 AM PST So, I've only got about 140 hours played so far, and a lot of that was on PVE/creative servers to get used to building and exploring. I'm still pretty awful at PVP, but today I felt like I finally made a big step forward in the game. I'm a solo player that plays weird hours, so it's pretty rare I have the chance to team with anyone. I server jumped for awhile before finally choosing a home which meant that my BPs were non-existent and it really limited my options. My first couple satchel raids didn't go so hot because I was inevitably countered and killed. Today, I stumbled across a base that had been raided or decayed and it was about 99% empty, but one of the only things left was a flamethrower on its last legs - perfect for researching! I banged on some barrels for awhile to get the propane tanks then found some wood bases to flame raid. Between two different bases, I got 700+ scrap which is amazing because I've never been able to reach a T3 workbench, and getting 1250 scrap seemed like an insurmountable hurdle for a solo player that sucks at PVP. Not much later, I heard two people raiding the small shop I built next to my base. I went out to try and convince them to just buy the turret I had for sale, but they weren't interested in talking and killed me. I spawned inside, grabbed the turret, and tossed it in the airlock literally the moment they broke through my walls! They killed me again, and while they're were trying to figure out what to do next, someone else came and killed them. Most of the shop was looted, but the counter raiders never checked the airlock, and I ran back before the raiders could make it back, so I was able to sneak it back to my base like the little rat I am. Later, one of the raiders came to try and intimidate me with threats of raiding my base which was pretty funny. On top of it all, I found a couple solar panels not long after, so tomorrow I'll be setting up MY turrets. =) To any other new players who are struggling: just keep with it! Some of them make huge newbie mistakes (not naming names so I am not violating the rule of shaming a streamer). I think a lot of the big youtubers are overrated. I find myself really looking for someone who doesn't just do constant click-bait, repetitious videos—I want unique, clever videos that can actually teach me things (after 6k hours) and be worth the time it takes to watch. I'll give two examples that I know about: Twisited and budsatawny. Anyone know of any others, particularly building-focused ones, that I should give some attention to? [link] [comments] | ||

This guy comes out of nowhere and downs 2 of them instantly, all hits to the body doesn't miss a single shot and this is a solid like 30m away. He doesn't know I'm there, I make 0 noise. I jump onto a rock get the first shot and instantly he fires 7 bullets exactly and all of them hit. I checked my combatlog and when my first bullet hit, he already hit me with 3 before my second bullet hit. And he hit me with the 4th and the 5-7th still hit as I was going down. I was on a rock such that only my head and chest were exposed. He wasn't even facing me at first he just instantly flicked onto me as he was running towards me. At first I thought he was legit and then he started saying he used to play with crywolf (some Indonesian god of a player apparently). I can't be 100% sure that he's legit and it's because of the combatlog. Everyone else in the 100 pop server thinks he's scripting as well and he rarely loses a fight. I got him down to 20hp though but he really missed nothing. In combat tag when I practiced 30m with running bots I hit 78% of my shots, how can someone hit 100% of their shots even when I'm 30m away I have the first shot, it's nighttime + I was strafing left and right pretty hard. Not to mention my friends both at 100% HP got downed within 3 seconds 0 shots missed. [link] [comments] | ||
