    You can report bugs in-game by pressing F7.

    [BUG] Something game-breaking that shouldn't happen.

    [QoL] Quality of Life change that doesn't necessarily break the game, but would be nice to fix.

    Please try to include helpful evidence related to the bug, such as screenshots, videos, or GIFs.

    Describe how to recreate the bug, if you know how.

    If your bug has already been posted, upvote it and reply to it with your info.

    Post your system specifications if the bug seems to be hardware/graphics-related.

    The full story

    Funny and obscure experiences are always found in rust, which is why I love the game - But today I got baffled like never before. I was "BANNED FOR CHEATING". Of cause not from rust completely, but only a small community server.

    It all started about a week ago, when my old "clan" started writing to me, that I needed to find time and finally play a wipe with them because a new big patch was coming with cars. I was SIKED. I called my GF and told her, and asked if I could make plans Thursday and coordinated things with her, so that she knew she could make other plans as well. I started working more each day, so that I could take this Friday off.

    Everything was ready and it was Thursday night. Me and a friend was on and watched the update stream while practicing on the Bedwars server waiting for the last two plebs to join. Unfortunately they were 1 hour late and as most of you know, that means we were too late for the official servers. So when the time came, we joined a random community server, with a about 70 people on - but fairly quickly rose to 110+. The server was a quad max group size, which fit us perfectly since we were 4. Everything went perfect - kind of our best run in many months (like 5+), and we were almost always outnumbering the guys we fought.. 4v3, 4v2.. - so yes kind of unfair and easy (Just adding we did die a few times doing Puzzles, a few groups were ahead of us and 4 as well). This meant that we where really well set and time went on.. sewer branch.. water treatment.. oil rig.. military tunnels...... And then we wanted to do heil..

    We waited, and waited... and waited. Our base was located on top of a rock on a hill overlooking outpost, military, a gasstation, and a bunch of nabours. The time was 03:30 and I was bored. So I stood in our tower and looked for people farming the road, whenever I spotted one, I would run down the hill chase them and kill them, no roof camping. Mind that most of them only had bows or revis while I was rocking a MP5.. And yes I know this wasn't a very nice thing to do, but you know, we needed components..

    After a few kills some naked came up to our based and trash talked us for a bit, but we didn't kill him and he ran off after some time. I looked where he ran too, and saw his base. The player count was now only around 30-40, and we were almost ready to raid - so we agreed we wanted to do an online raid and went to check out his base. When we got down there, he came outside naked and ran right to me, when he pulled a stone right in my face i shot him once in the head at less than 1 meter
    .. 1.. 2.. 3.. Game froze "Guys! I think I crashed! Can you hold me!" .. 6.. 7.. 8.. BANNED FOR CHEATING!

    My eyes widened, and I became silent thinking: "Did I just get banned from rust??". I've never seen a rust ban before. I told my friends, and they said that they would write in the chat for a mod. Meanwhile I joined their discord to ask what was up.

    A moderator came on the server, and when my friends starting talking to him, asking why I got banned, he started banning them too. Reason: Thread Level Too High. And I too started talking to the moderators on discord. Apparently I had been reported too much and their aneticheat plugin told them there was a 90% chance i was cheating. "hmm - fair enough, but why did you ban me? I mean, how is that chance calculated, how did you verify the reported claims" - Answer.. He didn't, and it slowly started to all make sense.. Looking at the discord users, 3 out of the 6 supporter guys had the exact same names as the 3 guys living next to us with bows that we had dominated. They where the reporters. The admins had seen them, and looked at their aneticheat - 13.something k/d. and banned me. "wow am I that good?" ... No because killing sleepers counted towards that k/d.. and there were a lot of them.

    Trying to talk sense into the mods, since we really had been looking forward to play, didn't help. Apparently I needed to prove that I didn't hack by providing a video. Additionally, my steam account could apparently have been bought (level 50, loads of skins, 800+ hours in rust alone). Apparently the admins didn't join the server at all and where both lying in the beds trying to sleep. They didn't check my pov, they didn't try to bait out or verify and cheats. They said "We banned you for cheating, not hacking, could be some type of scripts or something, and we are to tired to do anything about it. We trust the guys who reported you more than a random guy like you." - Fair enough, I'm going to stay away from that server forever even if they lift the ban. That was downright pathetically handled and straight up a donate to win. 200 hour rust player clapped harder than I've ever been clapped before. eksdee.

    Moral of the story

    There is nothing to do. It sucks. Get over it. Don't play anything but official or trusted community servers. I'm finally so good people think I hack. (Trausi and Posty I'll be expecting an invite)

    I Would love to show screenshots of the discord conversation, but he has banned us from everything. Tell me if there is a way for me to see it anyway. And no I'm not hacking, profile posted here so doubters can waste time checking my profile for the rest of their days waiting to see a ban - it will not come :-)

    TLDR

    I got banned from a single community server due to my k/d being too high by killing bow guys and sleepers, who happened to be donators on the server.

    TIL

    Don't build next to the donators of an average community server.
