I created a program to crossbreed plants for you

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 07:08 PM PDT

I created a program called Rust Crossbreed Calculator that can crossbreed plants for you. You just enter what genes you have, select which you want to crossbreed, and it spits out what genes you would get. It also keeps track of parents and children of your crossbreeds. To use this you should probably already know how to crossbreed plants, as this is to help you crossbreed, not teach you how. Hope you guys find it useful. Let me know what you think.

    Download it here!

Here is a preview of what it looks like

    GitHub Page

It's still being worked but I figured it was good enough for a v1.0 release. Some stuff I am still working on: saves, loading/exporting genes from/to text files, better visuals, and highlighting.

Right now it is only available for Windows, but I do plan on porting to Mac, Linux, and mobile. Or make a website for it, so you don't have to download anything, whichever comes first.

Cars should be code-lockable. Change my mind.

After being raised on a car lift, cars should be key lockable and code lockable.

add an incentive to keep your character alive for slave and prisoner mechanics, heres why.

add an incentive to keep your character alive for slave and prisoner mechanics, heres why.

in rust the only downside to dying is your stuff, your hunger/water, and your bag timer, apart from that if you get killed at your base its not too inconvenient if you can confidently strike back. while i still think being able to revenge against another player is good, i reckon having a system that rewards you the longer you stay alive would be good, perhaps like a character skill level, as you play on you get faster at mining and collecting resources or crafting, and when you die this greatly diminishes and or resets.

it would mean that dying wouldnt be so bad to the point where base defense and raiding aswell as roaming isnt ruined, but if you want a slight advantage, prioritizing your life would be worth it. another thing this could be used for is slavery. I often see people on servers advertising themselves as a slave, but it comes with many flaws, you can easily run off with resources, it takes alot of effort to designate a smaller area for another prisoner, and they dont gain anything from it apart from a roleplay experience, however if rust had mechanics that kept you alive, capturing players and utilising the built up skills they have for being alive for a long time in exchange for their life would be worth it.

adding the ability to bind players arms, generate power from them using mousewheel contraptions, have designated items for prisoners such as doors, beds and furniture combined with utilizing the already present code and lock systems would make a great experience that further encourages exploiting your enemies. its an interesting suggestion i was thinking of recently but it is likely flawed, tell me any reasons it could be wrong/right and how to improve it.
