    One heli every 24 IRL hours and 5 boats same. Would make stumbling on one such a rewarding moment.

    The problem was if me or my team lost a rig we could go back over and over. Having them be so rare for free would make it so people don't look for them but if you stumble on one holy shit!

    Rust Clan Strategies

    I play in mostly small groups and I was curious about the Rust clan scene. I've watched videos by Motion, and I've seen some content about the roams on Rust Moose Main. What I want to know though is how they can snowball so quickly. I understand they have more people, but they seem to aquire so much scrap, guns, gearsets even when they're against groups of equal size. Anyways this is basically what I want to know.

    How are large groups able to efficiently gather so much scrap? How has the boat paywall changed it?

    Everytime I've heard the comms for these clans it's a complete nightmare. What do you do to help keep them clear?

    Is it better to stay together or divide and conquer?

    Anything else that is interesting or unique to the clan scene of Rust?

    RustaFarmer - Crossbreeding helping app

    Hello fellow Rust's farmers!

     

    I've created an app to help you with crossbreeding in game. You can scan your plants directly from the game by looking at their genes and it will let you know what is the best crossbreeding you can make with the plants you currently have.

     

    The app look like that in game: RustaFarmer's app screenshot.

     

    How its used:

      1 - From the Scanning Page, you can basically look at a plant ingame or in your inventory and press B to scan it so the genes appears in the list of available plants.

      2 - After scanning your plants, you can go to the Results List Page to launch the analysis. After calculation is done, it will display the 10 best possible crossbreeding matching your criteria.

      3 - The Result Page is oppened when you click on the plant you want to create and display how to crossbreed your perfect plant.

     

    How it works:

    • By pressing B to scan (the key can be rebind if needed), a screencapture is automaticly taken from your Rust application. A custom Optical Character Recognition search in this screencapture if there are genes to interprete and if so add a new scanned plant into the Scanning Page list you will be able to user later for the analysis.

    • The launch analysis button will brute force all combinaison (with some optimizations) of possible crossbreeding with the plants you have scanned. The algorithm can be configure to allow crossbreeding from 2 to 9 plants (a full planter) and can also iterate over multiple generation of crossbreed if needed. At first, only the number of plants will be configurable by the player.

    • The result can be read as "Base sapling" is the plant that you need to plant in the middle of your planter, wait the 15~ min for it to enter the crossbreading stage, then plant all the "Crossbreeding saplings" before the crossbreading stage of the middle plant is completed. Your middle plant will then transform into the "Created plant".

     

    This application does not interact with the game through keyboard, mouse or any other input in any way.

    This application screen capture can be disabled to only authorize manual creation of plants if needed.

     

    Additionnal information:

    You may find on the following link a distribution of the probability for getting the gene you want versus the number of saplings you have on a basic scenario (no optimization, only 1 generation, 5 max plant per planter): Perfect plant distribution.

     

    Unfortunatly, this application is not yet available on the Steam marketplace as I am waiting to receive an authorization from Facepunch before publishing it. I would love to hear your though about if this application should be released or not and why.

    Also, if you have any ideas of improvements in mind or any questions regarding this tool, please feel free to ask.

    Kayak BP out of stock

    Every fishing village on the server I'm playing is out of kayak and paddle BPs. Anybody know how long it takes for them to restock (if ever)? Hope everyone is enjoying the update!
