As a solo, I got offline raided and they stole my Tier 3 workbench

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 05:32 AM PDT

I don't really mind that I got raided because it's just a game, but I don't think raiders should be able to pick up workbenches. I have zero incentive to rebuild now. If they hadn't taken the workbench I probably would have stayed on the server and just made my base stronger. I didn't have time yesterday and thought it would survive the night. I was wrong. But the fact that raiders can pick up your workbench really ruins the idea of starting up again.

1000 hours and I still suck.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 10:38 PM PDT

I've play rust for a good 1k hours now and not being able to win a fight of any variety is starting to get to me. I fought some bow guys today and it really started to make me think. I feel like I'm a negative member to my group always, despite hours and hours of combat tags training and working on my gunplay, I feel no better. But I want to be better. So badly. I enjoy this game and i dont want to feel bad every time i try to play it. I need tips for training. And also tips on how to not get overwhelmed by my fight or flight instincts every fight I get into. I feel like that may he one of my biggest crutches.

    NEW TO RUST

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 05:59 PM PDT

I'm relatively new to rust Iv got it about a month ago on only really started getting properly into it - 70 hours - I always find myself in each game getting to the same point. I set up a 2x1 get geared with a db or water pipe and a crossbow and just keep getting destroyed and not improving , Iv played the maps for gun aim where u go around with a ak and pvp but it's nothing like in game just wanna know what I'm doing like is there a method to get decently gears with weapons or is it just going to come with time ?

I have three main issues with rusts gunplay, hopefully some of you can see where im coming from.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 12:50 AM PDT

I have three main issues with rusts gunplay, this is all just an opinion i hope we can get some
good discussion from this post. Thank you for taking time to read and have a good day.

    1) Learnable recoil is unhealthy in a game like rust with battlefields that have such gigantic
    spaces.
    - Dying from nowhere with nearly zero counter play cause someone melts you just straight up
sucks. especially when your on a no build zone like a road or the new paths, your just fucked.
    - It causes people to not need to think about anything other than getting a position and lasering.
    - It reduces the need for long range guns like that bolt. Since in the time you can get a shot with a
bolt and do 80 damage. You can be just as accurate and get off 10 shots with the ak and land 5
    shots and do 250 damage.
    2) The current system either seriously neglects certain guns, or makes them S tier.
    - For example the semi pistol is a gun that is rarely seen since its Semi Body Gun counterpart the
semi rifle dominated it in almost every way. It has higher ammo, Better range that equals to
more damage, And is way more accurate since the semi pistols aim cone is ridiculous.
    - On the other side of the spectrum you have guns like the Mp5 or AK that make every other gun
look like an absolute joke. I understand that they are better guns but they blow the other guns
so far out of the water its not even close.
    3) Software advantages are kind of incentivized
    - There are two gameplay mechanics that im aware of that i think would cause a player to want to
use a out of game piece of software.
    - The first being the recoil, would obviously temp lots of players to download scripts, and its just
    completely ruining the game.
    - The second one is crosshairs, or a dot on your screen. This arises from the fact that bullets and
projectiles come from the center of your screen. Basically your forehead. This allows players to
head peak not even show their gun only the whites of their eyes and fire a bow or get a burst
at you. Really shitty mechanic tbh. As well as this it causes your iron sights to only provide a
rough area of where ur aiming. With the real area of where ur aiming being the center of ur
screen. this causes you to feel artificial inaccuracy when ur iron sights bounce which i think feels
really shitty. Also depending on where your aiming North, east south or west ur iron sights align
    slightly different.

Thanks you for reading pls no flame i genuinely want discussion. And other view points.

    Gun in rust without recoil?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2020 06:09 AM PDT

I come from an arena FPS background (Quake champions,UT4 , Diabotical etc) on those games there is no recoil it's all hitscan I'm finding the shooting on rust to be insanely hard is there any low recoil weapons ?
