A Stable/Dock/Helipad Compromise Posted: 09 Oct 2020 09:45 AM PDT The next update is probably going to add Stables, where horses can be bought for scrap. I don't think that works well for the game, along with the scrap cost for Helicopters and Boats. My guess is they've been implemented for 3 reasons:
The problem is that scrap is a fundamental part of the game. Asking anybody, even a zerg, to pay 750 scrap for an unarmored, destructible, two seater helicopter is absurd. Boats are more reasonable, given that purchasing a boat directly leads to gaining more scrap (Ocean Wrecks + Oil and Cargo). Horses, however, really don't fit a scrap cost. My solution is to replace the scrap cost with a "ticket" system. Minicopters/Large Helicopter Tickets could be found in Military/Elite Crates, or even rarely in Regular Crates. Boat Tickets could spawn in Military Crates, Regular Crates, and Ocean Wreck Crates. Horse tickets would have to be very common, spawning in toolboxes alongside car parts (Edit: Or rather than costing scrap, horses could cost Wood, Stone, LGF, cloth, or some other lower tier resource). Speaking of Cars, they need a buff. Not to how they function, but to how easy to acquire and set up they are. Cars would actually benefit from an npc-run "Car Garage", where cars could be bought with parts and modules pre-installed. The tier level of the parts could either be randomized or improve with money spent. That way, functional cars could be acquired without needing to set up a lift and research tier-2 parts. I don't want to kill the car-lift modification system, but as is, Cars are only used as a meme. It's such a fun and intricate system, but nobody has any reason to touch it because of the absurd effort required for something that isn't much better than a horse. [link] [comments]

Posted: 09 Oct 2020 01:59 PM PDT Listen brother. No one wants to drive your shitty cars dude. I shouldn't need a masters in thermodynamical engineering to drive the fuckin thing. K they slide all over the place. They are gutless. they break constantly. Been playing this game damn near a decade over 5k hours and I thought hot air balloons were useless but these things take the cake. Why is it turning into a marketplace simulator????? Like Hello? What happened to sandbox??? I cant wait to get my brand new horse from the stables and eat a L96 in the head as soon as i leave safe zone. Sick. Cars: I walk down the roads all the time and see hundreds of unused cars. Take the fucking hint please. [link] [comments]

It's a hard life for a solo... Posted: 09 Oct 2020 01:02 PM PDT I'm new. Like I bought the game a week ago but I'm learning fast. My biggest problem is not making any progress at all because I get fucking merced by 3 people with guns and armor, and lose all my progress. Or someone is waiting outside my door with a shotgun and kills me, or a whole lot more. How does one play solo? [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Oct 2020 03:08 PM PDT I was renovating my home and when I removed a double door on the floor above my T3 workbench it just broke. I was also breaking a campfire near some boxes and it broke them. Is this a new bug? [link] [comments]
Should you bully your neighbors in Rust? Posted: 09 Oct 2020 08:10 PM PDT Maybe it would be more beneficial to make alliances? I'm not sure.. let me know lol [link] [comments]
Is anyone actually using elevators? Posted: 09 Oct 2020 11:18 AM PDT Serious question. I have not seen a single solo/group/zerg using elevators, nor have I seen anyone here using elevators. Does anyone here actually use them at all? Just curious [link] [comments]

I know you don’t owe us anything FP, but... Posted: 09 Oct 2020 06:42 PM PDT Is there any chance you could release a video or an announcement that shows your plans for the future? I know you guys receive a lot of unnecessary flack for things you change, especially when everything is subject to change, but we would love a little more communication. The scrap wall that all transportation is being placed behind, the sad reality of unused cars, the cancelling of HDRP, and more... just saying I think it would be good for some direction. Something to be excited about. I will play Rust regardless - it's my favorite game of all time. But I think some sort of announcement would only serve to benefit everyone. Thanks a bunch for working so hard on a truly incredible game. It's sad this game isn't played by more people and disheartening you receive so much hate. Looking forward to every monthly update. Posted: 09 Oct 2020 01:33 PM PDT hello friends I'm new to the server but I want to ask you if rust is worth it? It is that me and 2 of my friends are going to buy it and not if it is worth it or not, I have heard that it is funny someone who confirms it to me [link] [comments] |
