    My friend doesn't get it

    Posted: 07 Apr 2021 08:00 AM PDT

I have 200h on rust and i have watched a lot of rust content. I have a problem, i recomended the game to a friend and we played together, we have made it to the level where we can afford most of the guns and we have a good base with the core and second floor being hqm. The problem is that my friend doesn't understand that there is no such a thing as his own chest. We are a group of 4 so we share everything. But then theres, him, who has his own chest and when he finds a good amount of scrap or some guns he puts them in "his" chest. We have been explaining to him that there is no such a thing as his own chest and that we share completely everything. But he doesnt get it. We have been playing like this for like 3 or 4 wipes and it gets on my nerves that he still has his own chest.

Drones are Broken(Little Used Drone Tip Included)

    Posted: 07 Apr 2021 04:23 PM PDT

The tip: Use drones to deliver loot back home.

    1. Place bags at bandit/outpost
    2. Create simple vending machine base near yours.
    3. Fill Vending Machine with junk(seeds, cloth, wood, etc.) Stuff that no one wants to spend boom on.
    4. Place orders for stuff you intend to acquire from Outpost/Bandit/PVP. Eg. 100Scrap for 1 cloth, 10 HQM for 1 cloth, 100 Metal for 1 cloth, 1LR for 1 cloth, 1 Hazmat Suit for 1 cloth etc.
    5. When you get loot, head over to bandit/outpost and "buy" your cloth from your own vending machine.
    6. F1 kill, spawn home. Collect and store delivered loot in your main base
    7. F1 kill, spawn back at bandit/outpost, head home with your loot already depo'd.

Drones are all pros, no cons aside from a 20 scrap cost.

They eliminate the value/usefulness of vehicles in the game. Why use vehicles when you can just drone everything? No one uses vehicles to go to monuments- they're too loud and obvious. Their primary purpose was transporting goods to and from the towns. Vehicles are cool- they take effort to get started, they're moderately expensive, they're difficult to drive, you can defeat them with rockets fairly easily- they add a whole new dimension to character interaction.

Drones take that interaction away. The train system is good content, it encourages player interaction and it's a fun new activity.

And I'm not saying this as a salty player watching other people do this. Almost no one else I see in game does this, but this will become the new meta. I'm abusing the crap out of this and I suffer almost no risks, ever.

To me the solution would be increasing the scrap cost to a base of 50, and then increasing the scrap cost based on the distance the drone has to travel. They're too strong- you can make 50-100 scrap in the towns just breaking barrels and signposts without leaving the safe zone.

Are there any medium level servers?

    Posted: 07 Apr 2021 06:37 PM PDT

Just trying to avoid Chad's that have decided to camp and rule the smaller servers vs lesser players rather than playing to their level.

Me and my group deliberately left facepunch and reddit servers as they're just beyond our abilities right now, and we're happy to admit that and try to hone our skills elsewhere.

Are there any servers that are generally known to be more "medium" level?

We've each got a few hundred hours but are still new to big raids and regular rig runs etc.

But we're also not in the "noob friendly" server category.

    Any suggestions welcomed.

    Thanks,

    HDRP performance issues?

    Posted: 07 Apr 2021 09:11 PM PDT

Anyone else feel like the HDRP branch is capped at 2 fps? I typically run 80 but even after running in max and 0 graphics it was still stuck around 1-2. Fiddled around with it all I could, made sure launch options were the same as standard.

    Rust+ error

    Posted: 07 Apr 2021 08:45 PM PDT

Hi guys, I have enjoyed using rust+ to look at what my team is doing when I am offline. But now when I try to use it, it gives me the error server offline. I have updated the app and restarted my device. I am stumped at what to do, and yes the server is not offline.
