Why cant the candles be better? Posted: 18 Oct 2019 04:01 PM PDT I love the look of the candles but they are so annoying to make since they just disappear after an hour of burning. I get it that it's a candle but if you could refuel it just like you do a tuna can lamp itd be so much better. Maybe let them be a permanent light source for free since they hardly light up anything anyways. With the introduction of electricity it's already pretty easy to make a base with full lights 24/7. Why not some stupid little candles do the same thing. That's it tho just upset cus ever since I saw them last year I loved the look but so disappointed in its mechanic. TL;DR Disapearing candles are lame. Let the candle sets be used as a super small permanent light source or atleast let them be refillable like the tuna lamp. [link] [comments]

It’s 2020 rust boys put your spacesuits on and load up in our Jet airplane to launch site Posted: 18 Oct 2019 10:23 AM PDT We're going to go loot the moon boys. ReaperJoe22 did you bring the 25,000 crude oil to start the rocket? Everyone got their spacesuits and enough ray gun charges? Good We may get countered from the north side of the moon I think I saw people going to military tunnels with 10 250,000mah large battery's in their Tesla 18wheeler. If the military teleporter activates be sure to be ready for PvP. When we get to the moon 2 if you guys go mine the crater and 3 come w me to get the loot from the nazi base. Take the autotarget laser turrets out with your microwave emitter, then we'll proceed forward with our T3000 as a shield. Let's roll out!! Rust 2020. [link] [comments]
Why Traps don't Work as Offline Protection and How to Change That. Posted: 18 Oct 2019 05:39 PM PDT IIRC the Devs have stated that they Intend for players to use traps to defend their base while they are offline. (Devblog 189) Right now Traps are ineffective at being a factor in preventing an offline raids for 2 reasons:
Because building blocks are not strong enough to make doors and other constructions the weakest part of every single base, The standard method of raiding has devolved into "drill directly towards the loot/Tool Cupbard from whatever position is weakest/safest". Which means the only knob builders have left to turn as far as an offline raid is concerned is the number of walls separating the loot/Tool Cupboard from the outside world. While Sentry Turrets and Sam Sites add a degree of security for deterring offline raids, That's only because they have almost none of the limitations of other traps. The short range of Shotgun Traps, Flame Turrets, and everything else so far means that any trap which can be seen by the enemy without being attacked can easily destroyed or avoided. As a conventional raid progresses any base will become so damaged that it will expose any traps rendering them completely useless as far as deterring an offline raid. If building blocks were significantly stronger than constructions then bases could make Raiders predictable which is required for traps to be effective, This can only happen if destroying building blocks over constructions was necessary. Low-tier explosives like F1 and Beancan Grenades require players to physically run up to the construction/building block to attach the grenade otherwise it deals insignificant damage. Satchel Charges can be applied to a target from a distance but their unreliability alongside Beancan Grenades means duds must be physically reignited or retrieved. Melee requires physical access to the target, Flamethrowers have a particularly short range, Fire Arrows are relatively expensive. All of the low-teir raid tools have some kind of risk involved with their use proportional to how effective they are. In comparison Rocket Launchers, Explosive Ammo, MGLs, and Timed Explosive Charges don't have a requirement which forces Raiders to expose themselves to danger. The only hazards that come from their use is the splash damage and noise associated with all explosives, Ef course Explosive 5.56 Ammo is an exception otherwise all raids on sheet metal doors are very noisy affairs. If the best tools available for destroying building blocks still required physically touching the target, Then traps would be capable of having a significant impact on how and if a base will be raided. In-short, To make Traps deter offline raids:
