Follow-up on the Shockbyte Rust server host fiasco: It gets worse

A few weeks ago my post about Shockbyte (a Rust server host) blew up enough (44 votes) to where the company replied on Reddit asking for my ticket number to resolve it. See for yourself.

The big deal in that post was Shockbyte has a button on their support ticket page for you to pay them to receive support faster (by faster, presumably less than their typical week to reply?), which is insanely stupid.

Shouldn't staff always be immediately alerted when someone makes a support ticket? We have to pay to get support in a reasonable time?

Anyway, I told them if they remove it and improve business practices I'll write a follow up post letting people know they'd improved, as well as remove my negative reviews on other sites.

Instead, they decided to show how impressively bad customer service can be at it's very worst. I was a Comcast customer service rep, I know bad customer service.

First, they sent a canned reply asking if they could help me fix any server issues. My ticket was clear and concise that I was not having issues, they just didn't bother to read it. They said they'd send the ticket to the refund department, who gave the option to cancel at the end of my billing cycle, which didnt make sense. Their reply to my question about that took fifteen days.

And as the cherry on top, the message (above) reads, and I paraphrase here:

"Go f*ck yourself, we're busy"

My ticket was marked as closed without any indication of a resolution. My service was not even cancelled as requested. I did not receive a refund.

So Shockbyte you can keep the 10 bucks. This is just a PSA for everyone to stay away from this horrible company for your Rust server hosting, or any hosting.

List of rust terms for the newbies!

Zerg - A large group of players with usually 8+ members who use their numbers to win fights rather then their skill.

Clan - A group of players usually from 4-8 members.

Beam/Beamer - Someone who has a nearly perfect spray control with a weapon, or is able to hit every shot.

Deep/Deep on - When you are able to get into a base without the use of any explosives, and get in because they open doors for you.

Eco Raid - When you are able to get into a base by only using tools, eokas, or soft siding to enter, without using any explosives.

Ghost - When a player changes their name to be identical to someone who's in a clan or zerg, they are then able to be let into the base by impersonating a member.

Inside - When a member of a group or clan sabotages their own team and takes over the base. This usually includes them breaking bags and changing all the codes.

Honeycomb - Placing extra walls on the outside of your base to make it stronger against raids.

Kit - A gear set where you have a heals, armour, and weapons.

Insta Bag - When you give a bag to someone and it has no timer. This can be done by giving a bag that hasn't been placed recently or spawned in on recently.

Geared - When a player has a gear set that usually consistent of a gun or end game items.

Airlock - Having 2 doors so that it blocks anyone from entering your base.

Loaded - When somebody has a full inventory of very important or useful items.

Jumpcheck - A jump check is used to identify teammates when you have not created a team yet or have multiple teams because of the large amount of people.

DB - Double Barrel Shotgun

SAR - Semi Automatic Rifle

Downed - When you fight a player and they are only downed and not full-dead.

Doubled - When a player double headshots while spraying.

Leech - When somebody joins late into wipe and doesn't farm or contribute, but still uses high tier weapons. Can also be when a member of your team doesn't farm but everybody else does.
