CCTV Update Bug Reporting Megathread Posted: 05 Mar 2020 11:24 AM PST Good day kids, aussiehootie here delivering the internet's #1 highest-rated source for Rust bug-reporting. Please help the developers by reporting any bugs, using the following points: You can report bugs in-game by pressing F7. [BUG] Something game-breaking that shouldn't happen. [QoL] Quality of Life change that doesn't necessarily break the game, but would be nice to fix. Please try to include helpful evidence related to the bug, such as screenshots, videos, or GIFs. Describe how to recreate the bug, if you know how. If your bug has already been posted, upvote it and reply to it with your info. Post your system specifications if the bug seems to be hardware/graphics-related. [link] [comments]
HEAR ME OUT - Small copters ruin the game (in its current state) Posted: 05 Mar 2020 07:16 AM PST I am a day one alpha player with over 6k hours, who has played rust in all stages of its developement. The opinion im about to state may be unpopular but hear me out. I dont want copters removed from the game! I think they are a great way to travel large distances, but they should be nothing more then that. Rust was always a game revolving arout risk. Whenever you left your base, there was a chance of losing what you got. When you looted a monument, raided someone, recycled, there was always that risk of loosing it all, that made the game as thrilling as it was. In addition to the thrill, the game made big progress with addition of the keycard looting system, which forced you to actually travel the map to get all the cards and made the process of looting big monuments harder and riskier but also more rewarding. If you wanted the big loot, you had to take the risk of losing your cards and your gear. Nowadays the keycard system (on which they worked a long time) is completely unneccesary. Want to loot launch site? - just fly up. Want to loot Water Treatment or Trainyard? - just fly up. Dome was always one of my personal favorites, kind of a nice jump and run design. Wanna loot it? - Just fly up. This goes for all the risks you had to take in the game, which made it so exciting. Want to recycle a shit load of stuff? - Just fly to outpost. No guarding a recycler needed, no gearing up to defend your big recycle loot. You raided someone and need to take the loot to your base? - Just fly! No risk at all taking all that juicy loot home. There have been times, where I've never seen my direct neighbours leave their base on foot. You just hear a copter starting every once in a while and a few hours later they suddenly are geared with all the gear you can get. In my opionion thats not how Rust should be played, after all its not called Flight Simulator 2020. Possible solutions to the stated problem? Shut Monuments from the top or guard them with more SAM Sites or more durable ones, so the process of looting them with a copter is at least comparable to the act of looting via keycards. Alternatively, make copters so they can actually be destroyed by a reasonable amount of gunfire. Make SAMs more affordable, so you always have to think about them when flying. All in all why should the best way to get loot in the game right now, have the least risk of all? Why is looting with the keycard system harder AND riskier? In my opinion, thats not fitting the game at all and should be changed. If you agree with this, upvote the post so devs may see it. If not, feel free to state your opinions in the comments. Have a nice day on Rust Island! [link] [comments]

I miss the immersion Rust had prior to all the QoL PvP adds Posted: 05 Mar 2020 10:38 AM PST Just saying.. prior to the keybound map, compass, team indicators the game had a bit of mystery. You had your own map with notes, and it was valuable. The fog of war made each map wipe a new world to discover. Not just jumping in and running straight for outpost to recycle and buy a base from a vending machine. The ability to snake into a situation without instantly being recognized as a threat mad for some great gameplay and forced teams to play smart or be punished. That's my rant. Not that the current game is terrible in any sense, just that the "survival" feeling is gone. *removes rose tinted lenses [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Mar 2020 04:00 PM PST So your a solo, less kitted, not one of the pvp 'bois' etc etc trying to avoid getting noticed. Now you have cameras watching you exactly where you dont want to be seen... Just takes some pvp team to flick through, see where you are, jump on the mini copter and come kill you. For example, the camera in airfield is looking at the recycler and oil furnace... Have fun being a solo trying to do some basic looting and getting some scrap recycled there. Same if you were a solo trying to door camp a kitted team with a double barrel trying to get a better kit from a kill, good luck there now. Even if you like pvp, do you really want some guy watching you on oil rig calling out to his mates your exact location, move for move, directing them to you like an esp... Feels like these updates are never thought through tbh. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Mar 2020 05:51 PM PST I play on a Rusticated 3x server and I've been looking for the computer station for the whole day. I can't buy it. It isn't unlocked as a bp. I've asked around but nobody knows why. Am I just getting cucked or is this an actual bug? [link] [comments]
Wire Cutting, Splicing and Reinforced Cable Posted: 05 Mar 2020 02:17 PM PST Suggestion: add onto existing electricity framework by allowing other players to cut or splice wires to siphon power for their own uses. Could be useful during raid or for hermits to try and steal power from clans. These would be done through a special wire cutter tool, and a wire splicing component that you could craft. Also add "reinforced cable" as a craftable that requires HQM to make and that you could apply to wiring to prevent the wire from being cut or spliced (but which would have it's own Hp and could be destroyed). You would then use reinforced cable for any tactically sensitive circuits or wires that are exposed to other players outdoors. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Mar 2020 02:11 PM PST Now that we have CCTV cameras, we need loudspeakers and fixed microphones. This way we can see and talk to people remotely (without using global chat). Would love to be able to set up a conference room in my cave base where I could have a video call with another clan in another base and we discuss terms of an M&A transaction. [link] [comments]
Viewing monuments through a CCTV is game-breaking Posted: 05 Mar 2020 05:00 PM PST I have been very disappointed with the direction PvP has been going with recent updates. I've literally had to deal with people wearing full heavy plate armor riding around on horses with DBs (good luck killing them if you only have a bow). Just wiped a full clan on rig but only have a boat? Too bad, they'll be back in a scrap heli before you can loot everything and get away. I myself have waited in a scrap heli behind the Cargo, just to kill the people when they have to jump off because the ship is despawning. Rust has always been a game in which items improve your chance of killing others, but carrying those items came with the risk of losing something valuable. Losing a DB and horse is no big deal, losing a heli is no big deal, yet they give you a significant advantage in PvP. Now worst of all, you can have a significant advantage in battle by simply risking nothing; by sitting in your base at a computer. If you are trying to loot a rad town, now you can check to see if there is a group there bigger/smaller than you, and what kind of gear they have. You could even leave a person in the base at the computer, as sometimes knowing the position of the enemy is more advantageous than having extra man with a gun (this is especially the case in large groups). All of these advantages with ZERO risk involved will lead to even less skill-based PvP. As long as you have specific items, you will have a monumental advantage. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Mar 2020 07:19 PM PST So since you can pick up monument CCTVs by entering in the code can you essentially look into another players CCTV by guessing the name of their cameras? [link] [comments]
Why are there so many hackers in Rust? Posted: 05 Mar 2020 09:01 PM PST Been gaming for a very long time and idk that I have ever seen so many hackers in a game. ESP and aimbots are very common then out of no where I see flying hackers. That shouldn't even be possible. What is the deal here ? [link] [comments]
Rust could be set for a surge in players over the next month Posted: 05 Mar 2020 07:55 AM PST It just occurred to me that if Europe and NA end up taking heavy quarantining measures similar to that of China in a few weeks time once Coronavirus has taken a foothold around the world, we could see a massive surge in Rust players, literally living in their bedrooms for weeks. Personally, I'm looking forward to Armageddon. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Mar 2020 09:45 PM PST So basically they added wall hacks with extra steps, atleast one some part... i mean there will be one clan member watching through the cameras on monuments, and random houses nearby other houses, and telling their teammates where the other guys are exactly... what time they are online exactly, and there wont be a safe haven anymore either... whats the point of the monument cameras? I mean even if the base ones seem op now, since doorcamping later on game kinda seems impossible or not worth trying, let alone doing oil rig, dome, etc ... and even buying guns/resources ... you're gonna be witchhunted and especially when you buy resources in outpost. I know it is a great update, reliable and usable in many many parts, but maybe a limit on how many u can have around one TC could be a good start, even the having to use a special card or something special for the access of the other cameras?? I didnt want to rant about it, but its things like these that make rust oversaturated, implying that the choppers, boats, electricity made the game way more fast paced than rust ever was. Im all for evolution and progress, but not without thinking all the possibilites for all the players [link] [comments] |
