Weekly Thread: Let's talk about monuments Posted: 21 Mar 2020 02:00 AM PDT Greetings! This week we thought we'd revisit a topic that throughout human history has sparked many a philosophical debate... has spawned fistfights and pub brawls, has had entire galaxies on the brink of interstellar war.... I'm referring to, of course, It's fair to say that Rust's monument landscape has changed drastically over the years of development - not just due to new additions, but also in the ways we access them. Scientists, puzzles, vehicles, CCTV cameras.. all have significantly changed the mechanics and strategies we adopt. We all have our preferred monuments that we haunt from wipe to wipe, and naturally we all have our least favorites. Many a PhD thesis has been written on the reasons why one monument or another should or should not be Shift+Deleted from the entire Rust codebase.... So, this week we thought we'd open that can of worms. Let's hear your thoughts on what makes a good monument. What are your favorites, and what are your least favorites and why? Which should be buffed and which should be nerfed? How might they be better balanced as a whole? As always, please remember to keep things civil, and on-topic. Anything vitriolic or non-constructive will be removed. You never know, the devs may be watching :) [link] [comments]

The attack helicopter WILL dive to the bottom of the sea to kill you. Posted: 21 Mar 2020 06:53 PM PDT My friend and I were diving and noticed an attack helicopter near. We figured if we dived to the bottom of the sea, it wouldn't aggro us. We were wrong. So, so wrong. So it attacks my friend, he dives to the bottom. I watch this attack helicopter FLY straight into the ocean, all the way near the bottom, gun him down, resurface like a bad Godzilla remake, and zoom off. If that ain't some shit, I don't know what is. [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Mar 2020 09:11 PM PDT So ive been playing quite alot with the electricity and it can get pretty expensive and it takes up a shitload of space that got me thinking what could be done to make this more efficient and realistic. what if there was an option at the tier 3 workbench to create circuit boards, you would click the button and it opens up an editor that shows a circuit board here you can place all the same components you can place on your walls just in miniture size. the components would just be the regular components shruken down, so for example if you find a switch you research it, then when you are crafting you can select the big one or 5 small ones for the same price. you can then place your circuit on a logic board and save the layout so it becomes a BP you know this allows you to quickly craft that circuit another time. this could also be cool as an electronics salesman, you could make all kinds of cool circuits and easily sell them in your vending machine to noobish players [link] [comments]

Skin Quality slider for the people who like to look at their skins Posted: 21 Mar 2020 06:51 PM PDT Rust devs, PLEASE PLEASE make a slider for skin quality on guns/doors etc. Some of us really want to have our games look like mush for fps, but still be able to enjoy the skin that we bought with mommy's credit without it looking like shit. Thanks, A rust player [link] [comments]
