    The real-world location of Rust

    Hello.

I open this thread with the intention of sharing a little discovery about what I believe to be the actual models on which some of Rust's buildings are based. All areas are located in Russia and bear a striking resemblance to the game's designs. In addition, all are easily reachable by internet (I will leave the name or the coordinates to locate each one). They are simple speculations of any fan, but I think they can be valid.

This work begins thanks to the famous video from the youtuber Shadowfrax "The Rust back-story" where he mentions the existence of the Aniva lighthouse on Sakhalin island, the lighthouse on which the original game is based and is really almost 1: 1.

But what other models have been used to design the monuments?

I have found several coincidences, specifically the missile launch station, the nuclear power plant and the gas station (the latter two on the same Sakhalin Island).

We start at the launch station.

The game's launch station is suspiciously similar to Vostochny Cosmodrome, a Russian space rocket launch station located in Amur Oblast (9Q3CV8MM + HJ). As you can see in the image, the launch zone, the crane that supports the rocket and the hangar (in the game with the large closed main door, in the open image) are distinguished.

Let's go back to Sakhalin Island. Apart from the well-known lighthouse, on this same island we can find Ao "Okhinskaya Tets", 3-й км, Okha, Sakhalinskaya oblast ', Russia (u can copy the name on google maps to see the pics). A power plant that supplies power to the island and has two small chimneys and a design very similar to that of the Rust nuclear power plant. Furthermore, they share a similar overall design, with pipes and rust.

It is not as obvious a tracing as the launch station, but it certainly remembers from the air and let's not forget that it is located on the same island as the lighthouse that served as inspiration for the one that appears in the game.

Looking for some other trail around the island, I arrived at the airport, which does not look like the game as such, however we did find something that is familiar when we see the images of the airport offered by google maps.

To find the airport on Google Maps, u only need to type: Okha Airport, Аэропорт Оха. If you see the images that appear in its file you can read a sign that says "OXA" (name of the city). Does it sound familiar?

The city of Oxa has Google Street View and it is very interesting to see, reminding in some ways of certain buildings in Rust, because of the region's poverty and extreme cold.

I hope you like these small contributions and comment on whether they seem valid or not and if you know of any other building or region that may remind you of the constructions on the Rust map.

    Cheers :)

Accidentally joined a "no size limit" server as a solo. Didn't want to leave my stuff to the toxic 8+ zerg that started roaming, so spent it all on turning my base into a blanket fort(ress) instead. Raid away, zerglings, raid away.

    Posted: 02 May 2020 08:36 PM PDT

I want to be godlike at this game. I am currently working on getting some better internet and once I get it I would like to take a few monthes to work on my skills. What should I start with when trying to refine my entire skillset which includes bows, mid game guns, and end game guns. I am looking for server and routine recommendations and any knowledge I haven't learned will come with future wipes. Would also appreciate any tips on other skillsets that I might not have listed that could be refined.

    Hey everyone,

I don't know if someone has already made a superior system for tracking Tool Cupboard decay times, let me know if you know of one, but I just made this one in google spreadsheets.

Hopefully you can copy the sheet and make use of it! Enjoy!
