People have to cop on about the nights and stop backseat devving. Posted: 01 May 2020 11:51 AM PDT Four-Five years ago we had the opposite problem - Nights were too bright and people bitched about gamma boosters that used either hardware or software options to boost their visibility in night. Game was LITERAL hell when 1 in x people artificially adjusted their settings to gain an unfair advantage - You couldn't detect that, it could have been hardware based - And with most of the monitors offering those options, it isn't just as simple of a fix as it was by banning cheating mice. It's not detectable by software (anticheats) either. People have complained for weeks, months, they shat on FP, FP listened and introduced the graphics redesign - People praised them for a bit, and now we see an influx of new players that clearly did not experience Rust before it was all introduced. If you want to see old threads where people complained and praised FP for implementing the nights we have today, here we go: r/Playrust 3-4 years ago, Screenshot, Another One With the influx of bitchy comments on social platforms I can do nothing but feel like we're going in a circle of negative feedback. There are reasons why things are the way they are. Darker nights is definitely what the playerbase wished for, so be careful and give some thought next time you cry out on social media and shit on facepunch. This goes towards RNG Recoil as well - Saw some suggestions pop up - We had that, it was terrible, instead of backseat-devving, let Facepunch handle this shit. You literally got what you wished for and now you're acting like a goldfish with a 30 minute attention span. Cop on, get the new night vision item, use a torch or farm in your base.
