Rust players are some of the most creative and persistent gamers I have ever witnessed.

    Posted: 09 Sep 2020 05:33 PM PDT

As a seasoned Ark player, and survival game fan, I have to say the player base in this game is unequivocally the most creative and destructive player base of any game I have ever played.

I started playing rust a couple months ago with a few friends, and I mean playing a lot. I'm logging 60+ hours a week at least. In my time playing so far, I have been impressed seemingly over and over again at the ingenuity and creativity of Rust players.

I had a group of 4 with nail guns completely get inside our base and use our own satchels and swords to break our beds and destroy our TC. They threw up an airlock. We had TO RAID OUR OWN BASE TO GET IT BACK.

I've had another base broken into because one single triangle roof piece in an airlock didn't get reinforced. They picked through it, got in and killed us, destroyed our bags, used OUR OWN TOOLS TO BREAK OUR FLOORS AND TOSSED LOOT TO THEIR FRIENDS OUTSIDE, THROUGH THE FUCKING CRACK BETWEEN WHERE THE WALL AND THE FLOOR MET...

I have seen so many clever trap bases that LOOK LIKE LEGIT DECAYING BASES.

I have seen a group of nakeds rally together to swarm an AK roamer, and then fight to the death over the AK.

I had a trio of guys spend who knows how many minutes picking at the underside of a roof piece to break into the top of a base and destroy anything they could.

I have seen nakeds throw up ladders and toss C4 on to a sweatlord base windmill.

Truly one of the most captivating experiences of any game I've ever played. Every day there is something new that happens, and it's because of this player base.

Tonight, a guy declared whoever found him would get his full metal set. Some kid found him and he gave him all the gear minus a rocket launcher and high velocity launcher on his back. I plead with the guy and he said "sorry man, a tad too late." ...Then minutes later, he said "hey bro let's go blow someone up with this" and we followed the guy he gave the set to, and he blew him up and got mowed down by the safe zone, effectively giving me his gear....

    I've gone on a bit.

My point is, as bad as this community can be — as toxic as it can be — it's the most unique experience I think I've ever experienced in a game world.

I think I'll be a Rust fan for life.

Can we get some seasoned players in here to provide some PvE ideas, from basic to extreme? Would be nice to see some different points of view for this type of gaming.

    Should I Buy Rust?

    Posted: 09 Sep 2020 01:10 PM PDT

Looking for a new survival game to play that doesn't take a buuunch of grinding or time invested, something quick/fun that you don't have to super invest in. Is rust that?

Help finding a youtube video (Art Hippy Clan)

    Posted: 09 Sep 2020 05:59 PM PDT

I'm trying to find one of my all time favorite rust youtube videos, and i need your help! The video was a come up story about a guy who founded a clan based on selling art and creative stuff like that. I can't remember a whole lot, but i believe the video comes to a end when another clan destroys all the hippies.
