Returning to Rust after three years - HOLY SHIT MADMAN DEVS Posted: 05 Oct 2020 01:54 PM PDT I haven't touched this game since I graduated and got a job. I work from home now so... Modular cars, horses, helicopters, farming, elevators, TRIANGLE ladder hatches, cameras, spiral stairs, ELECTRICITY, and A FUCKING APP???? What the serious fuck devs. You guys are fucking mad. I bought the game when it was only 10-ish dollars way back then. I paid that little to be greeted with a nearly AAA quality game in just a couple years of dev time. Hats off to facepunch. Best fucking "indie" devs I know. You guys don't deserve 90% of the bullshit you get from this toxic community. I've seen countless other go to shit and abandoned. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Oct 2020 04:53 PM PDT hey guys none of you know me but I have been a lurker here for a long time and recently have been partaking in discussion in our beautiful subreddit. I have lurked the subreddit for years and have played this game since legacy and I have noticed everybody's complaining about the horses being trapped behind a scrap purchase. it's not a bad thing. horses are very good to move throughout the map without having to take the roads that are very nicely updated and it would be very nice for players to be able to purchase them they are probably not going to make them too expensive and everybody needs to chill out everybody was complaining when they introduced The blueprint system everybody was complaining when they introduced The experience system and everybody was complaining when they introduced the scrap system. and people complained when they made the helicopters purchasable only. The point of the game is that they are updating it to the best of their ability and when you just add into the discussion on this sub of something you personally don't like with your own confirmation bias it really doesn't add anything to the discussion of the direction of the game. I think there needs to be less complaining and we need to see what it's going to be like before people lose their minds. I think this is a nice community and I've noticed that this subreddit is just a vocal minority of people who like to complain and I come on here to see some cool discussions not the same thing over and over again and I know this post won't make that big of a difference and I'll probably get downvoted because you guys can't handle a different opinion but I had to say it. I have been playing solo for years maybe duo on high pop vanilla servers such as rustified rustopia and Rusty moose monthly and I can wholeheartedly say that being able to purchase a horse would be a complete game changer in the ability to get away from the roads and cut through actual land better than cars can and horses can be pretty fast. Thanks guys go easy on me xoxo [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Oct 2020 11:16 AM PDT So basically your still craft electrical components at a regular workbench but to experiment for one, you'd craft a cheap secondary, small electrical workbench, and then experiment for them on there. I think this would clean up the experimentation for regular workbenches, and make it more tolerable to get into electricity for those who want to. Maybe even have 3 tiers of the electrical workbench for the 3 tiers of electrical components. They'd be cheaper to craft than the normal workbench, maybe 50, 100, and 150 scrap for the 3 tiers. You'd be able to pick up the electrical workbench, and it wouldn't take much space Maybe call it a soldering table or something? Thoughts? [link] [comments]

What were your biggest fail/facepalm moments in Rust? Posted: 05 Oct 2020 06:41 AM PDT I'm curious what funny stories people have about mistakes they made when they were starting out, or even later in the game. Maybe you had a misclick that cause chaos to start, maybe you made a building mistake, maybe the game had a glitch you didn't know about. To get the ball rolling, here is some of the stupid s**t I did:

Hemp Farming Nerf Was Poorly Done Posted: 05 Oct 2020 10:11 PM PDT Don't get me wrong, Hemp Farming was OP and needed to be nerfed, but the way it was nerfed is what I have a problem with. By restricting trading, they are making the game so much harder than it needs to be. The two major trades that make this such a bad update is the stone for wood trade, and the scrap for LGF trade. The stone for wood trade was a good deal because it meant that you could turn your excess resources into something else, and farming trees in some biomes (mainly deep snow, and parts of the desert) is terrible because the trees are sparse and don't respawn quick enough meaning you might have to run multiple grids from your base to fill a furnace. The scrap for LGF trade was already nerfed in the past (reducing amount of LGF you receive) and it was in a good spot for value. Now with boats only being buyable, farming crude is now hard, and LGF is one of the most scarce resources in the game. There were so many other ways to nerf hemp but not mega nerf scrap trading: - Nerfing Yields you get from hemp -Increasing the difficulty of cloning -Increase the time it takes for hemp to grow -Lower the amount of scrap you get for cloth -Remove the scrap for cloth trade (Not a big fan of this one, but it might encourage people to grow other crops other than hemp) -Remove scrap for planters trade at bandit (It was way too cheap and most people bought their planters instead of farming tarps) Any one of these nerfs or combination of them would have been better than what they did. It seems like they took the easy way out and as a result, has made the game way more grindy. [link] [comments]
PSA: here's how to manually enter a split amount when splitting a stack Posted: 05 Oct 2020 10:09 PM PDT I learned this by accident tonight! I was splitting a stack while moving the slider bar and my right finger was twitching and clicked the right mouse button which clicked the number in the slider area. The number became highlighted. I was like, "Huh. That's weird." I was then able to type in a number, split my stack, pooped my pants, and 2020 didn't look so dark anymore... Here's how to manually split a stack size
Why isn't this published somewhere? Why am I just now learning this?!! In fact, if you delete the numbers you will see faint copy instructing you to enter a stack size. Whaaaaat?! [link] [comments] |
