Would require a certain amount of rope and empty cans. Could be really useful for preventing door campers and lurkers. Primitive version of the security system that has been implemented. There are different thing but let me start with 1 of the more controversial ones: upkeep now before you start losing your mind just hear me out In the current system it is easy to set the base up, but the thing that gets you in the long run is upkeep what if instead it was hard to get a shit shack, but very easy to upkeep it? this would make rust so much more enjoyable to everyone, i like to come back once in a while after a binge weekend of rust, but its so frustrating having to work like a job upkeep your base throughout the week just to keep your "Progress". and by the next weekend when i finally have proper time im completely burned out by having to do upkeep all week i think actually most casual players are having this exact experience. upkeep also plays a big part in why it is so easy to raid atm, the easy fix for this would to be re-allow proper cupboard stacking so you cant get griefed during a raid. but reducing upkeep, and the overall node count of the map would also greatly assist this prolong the early game, and make the game much more fun overall and less job like. with less total nodes, there will be less sulfur for raiding, but building a house would also be much harder, but together with an upkeep reduction to me atleast, it would be perfect. lets do a thought experiment, when upkeep was introduced it was to keep base sizes down, it certainly attained that goal but it simply makes the game very frustrating. why is it have to work so hard to keep the stuff i all ready farmed? if they at that time instead had reduced the node spawn of all nodes to 1/6 and didnt introduce upkeep what would have happend then? this would also have made the bases smaller overall but in the proper way, it seems way more realistic that its hard to get even a small house and ontop of that it would just make the game feel so much better. no more "oh fuuuck i have to do upkeep today or ill lose all that stuff i want to play with in the weekend" moments... rust devs please think about this, your game is great but this balance makes the game not worth to play, you cant ever keep your stuff anyway... so many fun things to do and play around with but you can barely ever get them or keep them longer than 24 hours because of this backwards balance [link] [comments] | ||
