Ok, so while the graphics are all nice. The hitboxes to the rocks are completely shit Posted: 07 May 2021 05:40 AM PDT It can not be just me that experienced it yesterday. It was several times I tried to climb on rocks/mountains and you will see small spots where you should be able to stand on, but you can not. This issue was not there before HDRP, so if you get in danger and you got only 1 way to run which is the mountain, then you are most likely dead. I chased a guy yesterday that tried to get up a mountain, but I killed him with my p250. When I ran to check his body, I saw that he thought he could escape by taking this path up, but it did not work. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2021 01:38 PM PDT yo, after the HDRP update, I logged into Rustafied EU Medium II. I made a base in the grassy part of the map, and NODES ARE EVERYWHERE. like literally be out with pick for 15 mins you get a box of stone, sulfur, and metal. this is insane. I hope they reduce the spawns. [link] [comments]

Nice Guys Don’t Always Finish Last :) Posted: 07 May 2021 12:10 PM PDT Helping random people in Rust can actually get you places! I joined this server like 3 days before wipe. Long story short, by the last day of wipe I had an entire chest full of things I needed to research and about 600 scrap to my name. At this point needed scrap, and bad. Only problem was that there was a massive team that had completely taken control of Dome, the only monument I could get to and from quickly. Plus this map had only two roads, both on the complete opposite side of the map and swarming with scientists. If I was to go to Dome there was a 25% chance of one of them already being in or on it, a 20% chance of them coming up immediately after me and a 50% chance of me making the climb to discover zero boxes on top. The other 5% is me actually going home with some loot. Regardless, I attempted over and over and over again until I didn't even have enough cloth to make a kit that could protect me from the rads. Upon returning to my base, I began hunting for more cloth. Before my obsession with Dome, I had started building a second story to my base with its own airlock leading to the stairs. Foolishly, I left this "project" unattended and still in the "Twig" state. On my way back to my base I saw someone running around it, scouting me out. He saw me and immediately blasted through one of the twig walls and ran to the top of my roof. After destroying a few more walls, he had the perfect high ground against me, over my own base. Luckily for me, all he had was some kind of shotgun, while I had a revolver. This revolver also happened to be the only firearm I had on hand, let along the blueprint. Concluding an extensive (and very inaccurate on my part) battle, he finally rushed me at close range and I managed to get one last headshot on him, putting him down. I knew where this dude lived, barely a couple hundred paces down the hill from me. He had a pretty good sized compound, compared to my 2x2 with a single airlock. I ran inside without even looking at his inventory, and sent him a private message saying "Come get your stuff, I don't want any trouble. GG." I try to be friendly with other players, unless they pose an obvious or deliberate threat. I like having allies, but I can't bring myself to shack up with other players; I just love being a solo. So the guy comes back and grabs his stuff, while also dropping nearly an entire TC's worth of building supplies. He invited me to a private party and said the materials were to apologize for the destruction and to "trade" for the inventory I didn't take from him. Following a brief conversation, we went out together to bust some barrels and do some puzzles. As my new-found ally and I were making our way around the map, I received a message from another friendly player I had met the day before; he was being raided. After I got this message, my buddy and I both headed toward the base under attack, in an attempt to counter. Or at least halt their progress. Upon our arrival to the base, it became clear to me that I had NO business there. Here I am sitting in a baseball cap and burlap clothes with a revolver in my hand, watching a half dozen maniacs in metal armor launching rocket after rocket at this base. Without even thinking, I snuck in behind them and downed one with a couple headshots. "I can actually do this," I thought immediately before being absolutely deleted with an LR-300. So yeah, I couldn't do much for them. After returning to my base, my neighbor-friend came over and gave me a Double Barrel Shotgun, suggesting we go for a locked crate at Power Plant. I said sure, considering I didn't have much to lose anyway. We snuck into the area, no clue how many other people were there. I had never used a gun other than my revolver, so I was pretty uncomfortable with this shotgun. I looked up into one of the elevated structures and saw someone looking me right in the eyes through a hole in the wall. Panicking, I shot at him. Apparently there is a (closed) window there that hadn't rendered on my screen. Of course, I got nothing for that shot and now everyone knows where we are. Almost instantaneously we got pushed by three people, all from different directions. I heard the first one right behind me: thankfully a naked with a hatchet, he went down in one shot. Two other guys ran away together toward the train cars. Lord knows why, but I went straight after them. I had lost them as soon as they turned the corner, unaware that they could jump into the train. As I walked past, I saw one of them sitting in a corner of the train car. He had some sort of automatic weapon, but he went down in one shot like that other guy. I was hurt bad, so I hopped in the train and grabbed some pumpkins and syringes off him. As soon as I used the first syringe, that guy's buddy jumped in the train right in front of my face. I have no idea what weapon he had, I just took a shot at his head and ran. At that range I didn't even have to look back to check if he was dead. Fortunately the box was now unlocked, and my temporary partner/neighbor covered me as I grabbed the goods. Without even checking what I got, we ran. At this point there were bullets and arrows wizzing past me and landing on the ground at my feet. "This had better be some badass loot," I thought to myself. All we had to do was cross the river (terrifyingly dangerous) and we would be right in front of our bases, home free. His compound was far more secure than my shithole, so he led me in. After getting up to the roof, what I saw was an absolute war zone. Two different teams had followed us back and the team that raided the compound from before were already starting a raid right beneath us. The fighting intensified to the point where the raiding team had to start using their boom to defend themselves, which I found hilariously ironic. After about fifteen minutes, it was finally quiet. I can't even tell you how many backpacks were on the ground as I made my way home. The loot from the crate was alright, definitely not worth all the resources spent on the fight for it. After a few minutes my neighbor invited me over to give me some stuff for helping him defend his base and keeping him alive at the Power Plant. Everything he gave me was stuff I needed to research, hitch was both a blessing and a curse. I never would have found this stuff on my own, but I had no Scrap! Within seconds of returning to my base and dropping off my new loot, the guy that had asked for help earlier messaged me. He also wanted to give me some stuff for at least trying to help counter the raid on him. He said since it was the last day of wipe, he didn't need anything that the raiders hadn't gotten to. MORE stuff I needed to research, and a LOT of it. He also gave me 800 Scrap, which I was very thankful for, but I needed to find a way to get my hands on thousands of it. What I decided to do was take that 800 Scrap to Bandit Camp and see how much I could gamble my way up. After about an hour in there (I got VERY invested) I walked out with seven thousand fucking Scrap. I was able to research EVERYTHING. I felt like a fucking legend. GG, me. GG. [link] [comments]
