Steam Sale Warning!: New players! Be aware the Mac version of Rust is NOT PLAYABLE Posted: 24 Jun 2021 07:05 PM PDT While the game can indeed run on a Mac sans the bug, you will be getting a weird freeze in frame drops constantly which makes the game unplayable. The developer team has failed to address this for many, many months, yet still lists the game as playable on a Mac. It does not, it is unplayable. Buyer beware. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jun 2021 03:57 PM PDT Spent all day. Researching how to build a base. Copied a highly rated one off YouTube. Was told even at half build it was a strong deterrent base. Spent all day building it. Walked away for 20 minutes to get scrap. Come back. Every bit of anything of value. Gone. This game is a waste of damn time. I'm between wipes and raids. It takes seconds to lose hours of work. I'm out. [link] [comments]

Thinking of getting Rust, need more details. Posted: 24 Jun 2021 10:50 PM PDT Hello everyone. So, I'm thinking of buying Rust but I need to know more details, I was wondering if someone could give a brief description of the game (someone that has played before)? Just, what I'm mainly wondering is, could EVERYTHING you've ever done in the game get destroyed or does some stuff just get destroyed that's like stuff you put in places. Because if I build like a whole MAIN thing, I'm wondering if like idk, if EVERYTHING gets destroyed at some parts in the game. [link] [comments]
How common is it for raiders to lock you in? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 07:01 PM PDT Hey everyone, Rust newbie here. I've been having a blast with the game for the past few days, especially because I tended to be a hoarder in other survival games, whereas Rust forces you to be a lot more carefree about losing your loot. So I get raided a couple times, very "respectful" raids, let's say, since both times the raiders pretty much just broke my TC, took away resources, weapons and ammo and left everything else as it was. Second time someone took my repair bench and workbench and placed them outside in front of my base to... I don't know, intimidate me? Flex on me? As a kind of mating ritual? I'll never know, I tend to dip once my base is raided instead of trying to fortify it. Anyways, just a bit of loot, no skin off my teeth, I'm progressing fast through some lucky BPs though so I'm not even mad. Except today, someone really got under my skin. This dude decided to raid and clean EVERYTHING from my base (no biggie fr), broke down only the doors and put up some of their own, slapped simple locks on them, built a few walls in the middle of the base more as a f.u. than anything (since those were left on thatch, whereas the doorframes were upgraded to stone), and left us there. Alive. Trapped. No items to make even a shoddy wooden hatchet. Basically forcing us to suicide and give up the base (I think? I'm a noob, I've been playing for five days. Please enlighten me if there was another way out). Now, this is Rust. This game is all about being unforgiving, and I get that, but as much as people everywhere are telling you to not let the game get to you, this one frustrated me. I know there's no such thing as a "respectful" raid as I said above, but I couldn't help but feel unnecessarily trolled for no reason. Granted, it'll make me learn through my mistakes, but by god, I'm building in a cave next time. Anyways, how common is that in the game? Should I prepare myself to not get tilted once this happens again and again? Am I making some dumb mistake? I still haven't learned how to honeycomb properly (and would love it if someone had a good video to recommend) so there's that, but I'm pretty sure they came in through the airlocks, or built everything back again in the same place, I dunno. This game man. This fucking game. [link] [comments]

What parts should i get for better fps. Posted: 24 Jun 2021 06:15 PM PDT Hi All, I am wanting to upgrade my pc to get better rust fps. I play 1440p and usually get around 50-80 fps with a Ryzen 5 2600, 1660 Ti and 24GB RAM. I want to upgrade to a 3070 at some point but was wondering in the meantime what a good cpu would be to get? Is rust more CPU or GPU dependant? Thanks [link] [comments]
