Does anyone else feel like they dont enjoy the game as much as others? Posted: 16 Oct 2019 06:47 PM PDT i have a friend who was ecstatic about the game, and convinced me to buy the game a while ago and ive racked up about 20 hours. i generally never enjoy the time i spend playing and just left rubbed wrongly by interactions with children yelling racist things at me and dying when trying to start doing anything.. my buddy has tried carrying me and it doesn't particularly give me a jump start in terms of enjoyment. does anyone have advice to stop finding the time i spend with rust so boring and dry? Some pictures from the older devblogs and features. Posted: 16 Oct 2019 07:45 AM PDT You should check out some of the older devblogs, but don't expect to read them all! There is just to much information to reasonably expect that. It would actually take a few days to get a good idea of all the features that are still not implemented and what was going on. It took me a few hours to quickly read through some text headlines and browse pictures. Although I do want to mention that the devblogs themselves don't always give the entire picture of what was happening at that point. Also a lot of the older devblogs are missing pictures. So of course the world looked different back then and there are still a lot of features not implemented (including pve) even with the models being done at some point. Here are some interesting things I found! Pictures Turrets No idea what happened with their original plans of these things and a lot of other missing features. At one point multiple turret variants were planned. Did you know that the turret we have now is actually the smaller variant. There were some ideas for them being modular as well including face shields for them. https://rust.facepunch.com/blog/devblog-66 https://rust.facepunch.com/blog/devblog-67 There are more mentions of these turrets but I don't have the devblogs listed, find them yourself. Tier system for certain deployables The campfire was originally going to be expanded (see imgur link.) Here is a link to the tier 2 refinery. It also offers the ability to get different types of fuels. https://rust.facepunch.com/blog/devblog-68 Be warned, you will find better looking heavy armor than the crud we have now. World changes Some of the older changes looked like it fit well in the game. The map is flatter now compared to the older map styles. No pictures since I don't feel like finding some. Also at some point the river bridges were removed, I quite liked them. The world seems flatter than what it once was and is missing bridges for rivers. Not really any good pictures for this, not interested in browsing for some. Clouds! Yup that's right we had more advanced clouds and a weather system. Weather system removed because acid rain? https://rust.facepunch.com/blog/devblog-66 I don't know about you but I like the thought about dynamic weather and fog making it harder to survive. It just feels like the love for the game was lost by the developers and a lot of the older content forgotten and traded for this pvp thing we have now. The rust community seems to have I have no idea what happened to a lot of these features and if you ask me they would make rust a far better game. Maybe something's changed. The love for the game was lost by the developers or a lot of the older content was forgotten and traded for this pvp 'game' we have now. The rust community seems to have changed since then (while also forgetting these features) and the only thing they care about is pvp, raiding and balance. Than again it could just be that they havn't had the chance to yet. It just feels like it could've been a far different and better game but it was hijacked by people who wanted to play this game like it was a competitive fps and could care less about anything else. Cried like babies when something minorly inconvenienced them and ranted when they didn't get what they wanted. Just a bunch of rude and toxic people who attacked anybody else that thought differently. Not saying that wanted pvp oriented features is a bad thing but when there are virtual riots over some change than there is a problem. [link] [comments]

I had a stupid arguement with my friends about something Rust related.. Posted: 16 Oct 2019 09:00 PM PDT So, a friend of mine thinks that the way guns have their own weird recoil is due to the fact that they re just categorized by a tier, meaning that a SAR its harder to shoot due to its recoil because inferior tier to the m39 which is harder to obtain. So the AK compared to the LR, also how the L96 is the better version of the bolt. He says its due to a tier for which guns are sort of listed. I and and another friend of mine both believe that its due to the fact that althogh the game needs the guns to have sort of a strenght per say progression, the way that their recoil is made is because those guns are more rudimental, the world is giving you only certain items that you can use to craft weapons so you re limited in terms of guns " quality ", the barrel has a screwdriver in it, most weapons are build on top of wood etc. So the game to make it " realistic " wants you to give you a proper fair challenge in terms of recoil to those weapons compared to the ones you can t really craft and you can only find already made. The idea is that rust isnt purely an fps, therefore wouldnt be the same expierence to have all the weapons to have more regular recoils like you might find in battlefield games for example. Whats your thoughts on this ? what makes more sense to you ? [link] [comments]
