    Why do people play Rust?

    The first thing to know, I am NOT hating on the game. I think that it's only for a certain type of people that actually enjoy the game. But since I'm not a part of that group, I want to know about the people who do.

    Let me first tell you why I don't enjoy the game. I stopped playing a year ago so some things might have changed. I also only played solo. But in my experience, it takes way too long to find anything (I'm looking at you, Hemp). You cant start basing because before you even have the resources to make a base, someone has already killed you. When you do create a base that took 7 hours to make, you go to bed and it's gone the next day. Whenever you do face against someone, they have a ton more resources and shoot you with guns immediately while you only have a bow. I feel that It is impossible to play alone unless you are the only person in a server, or if you base with like 5 or more people.

    Whenever I see people playing on youtube, no one has any sympathy for anyone else whatsoever. People will kill and bully newer players and not even give them a chance to set up. In my opinion (and I'm not saying everyone who plays the game is like this) it seems that the player base is just playing because they have either a raging power boner or gets hated on by everyone else and wants to seem to have a higher power over everyone else. I also feel that the people who are successful in the game stay up like 24/7 so they don't lose their stuff and "no life" the game. Plus it shows just how greedy people are as humans.

    Now im not planning on playing again any time soon, but I remembered how unfun it was for me back then and was curious how the game is still popular. So I want to know why do you play the game? What is it like for you to play? How do you not get stuck as a naked n00b on the beach? How do you keep a base without having to stay awake 24/7? Is every player just toxic to ruin other people's days? Lastly, what happens when you do lose everything you own?

    Edit: Thank you guys for the feedback. So it seems that everyone who plays this game enjoys all of the hatred, loss, anger, and sweatiness that comes with the game. But as well as the very brief highs the game also gives. For me, I'm not the kind of person who has built up hate and/or likes to release it on other players, nor do I have the skill to do so to truly enjoy the game. Because of this, I know that I'm most likely never going to touch the game again unless I play some sort of PvE mode. I hope everyone here has a good time playing this soul crushing game because I know I wont. Goodluck.

    My specs are 1060 6gb and i7 8700k but I seem to crash randomly while in servers, I have an ssd and load into servers within 2 minutes but sometimes I can't stay in them, does anyone know what I could do to fix this?
