    Facepunch should make a new box that contains only electrical components

    I don't know about anyone else but I feel that when I'm on the road and I open a crate, I almost always get an electrical component. These parts just make other loot harder to get. I propose that this new electrical components box and crate's spawns are percentage based. Let's suppose that the location of the crate spawn is location x. So in location x, (just giving random numbers) either the crate has a 80% chance to spawn in location x or the electrical components box has a 20% to spawn in the location x. If someone at Facepunch happens to read this, please consider implementing this into the game. That's my rant over and thank you to all who read this!

    Offline raid protection

    So offline raids in rust are the bane of anyone who doesn't play all day, and I've seen servers try multiple methods at combatting this. But none have tried ORP(offline raid protection) In ark, a lot of non official servers have it, so basically when everyone in your group gets off there's about a 30 min- 1 hour timer(can vary) where you can get raided, but after that timers up your buildings/Dino's take no damage (When a group hasn't gotten on after a long time their base becomes raidable again). So I know that rust has a different claiming system, involving tc instead of auto claiming every structure you place, but do you guys think there would be a way to implement this into rust without some huge exploits. You guys are more talented than me so you'd know the chances of this working, I just wanted to present an idea.

    hi, guys, I'm new to pc gaming about a year now and I'm looking for some new games to play I've been following rust for such a long time now but never actually played souls I try it out is it hard to get into a guild/group? I know this game isn't friendly to new people but hope the community here is and that ye can give me some helpful advice

    Ultimate Rust guide

    This Guide will stay Up to Date in the future. This guide is work in Progress! If you have improvements let me know in the comments! I have to reupload it, because my other post was locked.

    Welcome to my Ultimate Rust Survival Guide in 2020.

    I will cover everything in this Guide for a SOLO-Player.

    If you play in a group, this guide will be useful for you as well, but some things in terms of decision will change dramatically if you play in a group.

    Let's begin!

    ​

    Preparation

    If you want less FPS but amazing graphics, go for it. If you want to die, because the enemy can see your earlier, go for it. But if you really want to survive and dominate give a **** about how the game looks like.

    ​

    First of all, make sure you get the right PvP Settings. I use the same game settings, which are mentioned in the video from hJune. You can check out his video to download the config file and replace it in your steam folder(C://Users/Steam/SteamApps/common/Rust/config/).

    Everything under 60FPS is pretty bad for PVP like in any other FPS Game. To improve your fps, close all other applications which are running in your background,make sure you have at least 16GB or Ram in your computer and check your bios if it's using the full power of your RAM. Update the driver of your Graphicscard(I recommend Ge Force Experience for Nvidia users). And defenitly buy a 144hz Monitor!

    Useful tips and tricks

    Key binds:

    I definitly recommend using Rust key bindings. If you are in game, press F1 to go to your console and write the following and hit enter:

    Press V to auto-runbind v forward;sprint

    Press X to permanently crouch and auto-attackbind x attack;duck

    Press C to permanently crouch, press Control to cancel.

    In my opinion this are the most useful keybinds. There are much more keybinds.(If you're interested check out this Post Keybinds

    If you've done all that, then you are ready to start.

    Base building tricks for Solo Players

    go build a small 2x2 Base with a triangle infront of it. So you can place two doors behind each other to prevent of losing your loot to a door camper. For more advanced Base building check out Youtube!

    Early Game

    ​

    Where to build my base?

    First of all, move away from the beach! There is no need to fight with nakeds. You just lose time. If you ran away from the beach, take a look at the map and check where you want to build your first base. I´m most likely to build near 2 of my favourite monuments: Sewer Branch and Train Yard. In best case there is a lighthouse or a gas station near by to get green keycards. I know that there are better monuments in terms of loot such as Military Tunnel and Launch Site , but as a Solo player this both are the best one's in my opinion.

    On your way to your favourite base spot, pickup all Cloth, Wood,Corn,Pumpkins etc you can find.The first thing you will do is crafting yourself a bag, to prevent running over and over again to your favourite spot if you should die.

    If you did that, go and craft Tools to harvest wood and gather every ore you can find. Then go build a small 2x2 Base with a triangle infront of it. So you can place two doors behind each other to prevent of losing your loot to a door camper.

    Craft an Toolcupboard, a sleeping bag, 2 small boxes and a fireplace asap and place them in your base.Then you are good to go. Now it's time to craft a bow. Find more Cloth,Wood and Stone and start crafting yourself a bow with some arrows. If you should see some animals on your way, go and kill them for Animal Fat and Meat. Then you can craft an Furnace to start melting your first Ores!

    If you got a 2by2 with a Triangle Floor, some boxes, a fireplace, a furnace and a bow,Congrats, you made your first step for surviving your Wipe!

    Try to craft this Weapons as soon as possible(You need a Workbench Level1 first):

    - Nailgun

    -Crossbow

    If you have this 2 Weapons, you can literally dominate every early fight. The Nailgun is OP!

    Well done lone Survivor, you will soon make your way out of the Primitive Stone Age!

    Mid Game

    If you got a base, Workbench Level 2, some furnaces, an Crossbow and a bloody Nailgun, welcome to the Mid Game. That's the most fun Stage of the game in my opinion.

    First of all, try too loot as many opponents and Weapon Boxes as possible. You need to get an revolver or another gun. If you find a gun, store them in your base until you have enough scrap to research it!

    Try to avoid fighting groups bigger then 3 if you don't want to lose your stuff and your not confident enough in PVP. Be like a Ninja, be invisible. Rust isn't a fair game so you this to your advantage!

    On your way looting components I would recycle everything except:

    -Metal Pipes(You need them for revolver and some other guns)

    -Semi Automatic Body (For crafting the Tier2 Semi gun)

    -Rifle Body (For crafting the Tier3 AK gun)

    -Ropes(For Crossbow and Clothing)

    I always recycle everything else. You need to find a middle between recycling and keeping stuff. If you need Scrap and got a loot of Metal Pipes as example, go recycle some of your Pipes for Scrap!

    In this Stage of the game I don't farm wood anymore. I gather Stone and sell them at the Trader for Wood. 1K Stone is around 3K Wood.

    Focus now on researching stuff like:

    -Semi Automatic Rifle

    -Syringes

    -Custom SMG

    -Road Sign Stuff

    -Metal Tools

    Also try to make your base bigger to save you work. If you want to guides to Basebuilding for Solo Players, go check out Youtube.

    If you get all of this, it's time to reach the End Game!

    ​

    End Game

    Well, If you are new to the game, it is possible that you will not reach the End game for a few Wipes until your used to Rust. That's no problem. Everyone was a beginner.Just keep playing and you're getting better, 100%!

    Now you want to try to get on AirDrops, Oil Rig, Military Tunnel and Red and Blue Cards!

    If you get an AK,Bolt or Metal Armour, go research it asap if you already have an Tier 3 Workbench.

    As a Solo it's a good idea to trade Sulfur for Scrap. A lot of big groups are doing this trades. Go build your Vendormaching or sell it via Global Chat.

    Nothing more to say here, go PVP People, Raid there bases and be the richest guy on the Server!
