A small suggestion for the CCTV camera update... RF Broadcasting! Posted: 02 Mar 2020 01:49 PM PST I'm not just screaming into the void here, I know facepunch likes to look at the subreddit on occasion. After watching exactly 307 videos on the new cameras in staging branch and getting rather hyped for it, I thought about what could be added about it to fulfill three objectives: 1) Improves gameplay 2) Fun to play/play against 3) Fits into the existing state of the game And to that end, my suggestion is to allow the Computer Station to broadcast up to three RF frequencies while you're operating it. It takes an RF Broadcaster to craft one, after all. Now what could this accomplish? By having this feature, RF broadcasters, receivers, and pagers can be utilized for all sorts of things, like remotely opening doors, making traps, alerting pagers, all within the comfort of your home. Trap bases will be even more versatile now, allowing you to hook up door controllers and activate them from far away! Everything I've listed is already achievable in rust already, but with this feature using the Computer Station as a genuine defensive and offensive tool. Also Helk, when are we getting remote controlled explosives? Cmon, you know you want to! As an important note, RF frequencies should be increased to 6 digits if something like this gets in the game, to avoid the risk of overlapping frequencies. Four digits is relatively secure, but if people begin using more frequencies with the computer station, it could get messy. Thoughts? [link] [comments]

What happened to modular firearms? Posted: 02 Mar 2020 11:11 AM PST I remember hearing about them a few months ago, but havent seen anything since. Im huge into firearms and thought this would be an amazing addition to the game. There is so much potential in a system like this. Would add even more uniqueness and customization on top of an already gripping game. Are the base firearms in game getting a little old to anyone else? Modular firearms could work as follows (only scratching the surface): You have your base guns that are already in the game, but off of that could come essentially an unlimited number of guns and customizations. Add a "weapons workbench" or something of the sort, and from there you can modify your firearm. Some potential mods/ideas I brainstormed: Scientists could drop weapon parts as well as barrels. For example, you can replace an AK's stock with an LR's for improved accuracy but less movement speed. Add an MP5 barrel to an AK and a smaller stock to turn it into an AK74u. How about extended mags? I also believe there could be more types of ammo. For example, some AKs in real life can take 5.56 and 7.62, so what if they added the 7.62 round and it dealt more damage but had greater recoil? What about bayonets?! There is so much content that I believe is being left out of the game in regards to firearms. Rust is already one of the most unique and gripping games, but imagine if you could make your own dream arsenal in game? [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:41 PM PST For solo's on any servers and not solo, how? For me when I play on any, I just get destroyed by groups of people so I just stick to solo. [link] [comments]
WorkingMan is a new server plugin to limit play time Posted: 02 Mar 2020 01:49 PM PST https://github.com/pilate/WorkingMan WorkingMan is a plugin for servers wishing to limit the play time of players. Why would you want to do this? This plugin is designed for people who enjoy playing vanilla Rust with full PvP, but have lives outside of the game. Work, family, friends, and/or other interests take up the bulk of your day, but you still enjoy playing Rust for a few hours a day, several days a week. Unfortunately, Rust is designed in such a way that the more you play, the more of an advantage you have against other players on the server. Limiting all players to the same amount of play time per day and/or per week puts them on a more level playing field and helps to lessen the all-too-common scenario where people are roaming the map on wipe day with AKs killing nakeds with bows.
