"Trust in Rust" Charity Tournament - Today @ 4 PM ET

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 12:12 PM PDT

The Trust in Rust tournament is the biggest collaborative event yet...

It will feature all of your favourite content creators and devs battling it out on one server for charity!

The event is brought to you by hJune and the Rustoria servers.

We want to not only provide a fun event for the viewers and creators, but raise $10000 for COVID Relief.

We're all facing tough times with the virus affecting people from across the world, we want to show that you can indeed "trust in rust" to come together and do something great together. All proceeds will go to Direct Relief, which will help those that are affected by COVID-19.

You can help us reach our goal and donate here:

Without making it too long, the goal is to raid, and not be raided. It's a point-based tournament where kills, objectives, and raiding others' TC's give you points. Whoever has the most points or is the last one standing by the end of the event is the winner. If your TC is broken, you are eliminated.

More information about how the game is played out will be explained in the stream.

I'll (hJune) be casting the event with Jamesbot over on the two main streams that covers everyone's POV here:

A lot of the creators on the list will be streaming on their twitch channels as well, go check them out :-)

The full list of teams and the players are here:

Am i the only person that likes to play on nearly empty servers?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 04:15 PM PDT

Me and my friend like to play on nearly empty/ completely empty servers just because its more peaceful. The most people we'll play with are 10 people on a server. I told someone this and they say i play the game wrong. Am I the only person that plays like this?

How does one improve AK spray

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 08:13 PM PDT

Im not looking for a quick way, I know I will have to put a bunch of time into it, I want to know what kind of servers, is an aim trainer a good way to do it, or just like a straight PVP server similer to a bow trainer, or should I just play Rust, what about mouse sensitivity? I have about 700 hours in the game, im OK with most guns, im just shit with the AK. Thanks!

Player returning to RUST. Can I get a rundown of what has changed.

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 03:13 PM PDT

Hey guys, I'm an older player who's got about 1000hrs in this game, but I stopped playing in the spring or summer of 2017. I do believe this was just before vehicles and electronics were added. And from what I can tell, a whole lot has been added or changed. Can a couple of you guys give me a rundown of what I should look-out for, or maybe some tips that I wouldn't be aware of so I can maybe have a smoother transition back into the game. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Things you wish they would bring back in Rust

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 08:07 PM PDT

I was just watching some old rust gameplay videos and getting all nostalgic over the good ol' days. I'm sure I'm probably in the minority on this but I miss the screaming sound you would make when you got knocked down.

Also what ever happened to rain? I remember they took it out years ago because of lag issues with the intention on fixing it but it's never returned. I thought it added a nice ambiance to the gameplay.

    Cinematics question

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 07:27 PM PDT

How does Frost make his cinematics? Does he recreate it in a separate server, or is he always recording his gameplay in console so he can go save it at times and go back in the demo playbacks?

Is there a plugin or tool that can 'visualise' the allowed build areas/space on a map?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 03:11 PM PDT

Hi have a local server running with a random map seed. I've been flying around looking for interesting ways to build using the landscape to inspire the design of the base (between rocks, in a deep valley etc).

I keep running into interesting topographic areas that would be fun to build a base in, just to realise it's too close to a monument or something that prevents be from building in the spot or prevents the size of the base to go big enough etc.

Does anyone know of a Umod plugin or another tool that visualises the buildable areas on a map?

I remember a while ago there was one for TC's that would show a semi transparent dome shape over the TC to let you know how far the TC privileges go, but I can't find anything that's related to the actual map's buildable restrictions.

PLEASE HELP RUST CRASHES AND IV'E TRIED EVERYTHING!!

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 09:52 PM PDT

Hey Jake here iv'e had rust for about 2 years and it started up but in the past year it been playing up. i have 8GB of RAM and the minimum is 10GB RAM but it played fine but after a update around 1 year ago its been on and off for rust for me because it works one month then not the other but the past 2 months its unplayable i open the game i start loading onto a server like AU Medium then somewhere after "Loading Large Monuments" it crashes and sometimes without a crash message. so im like oh... ok i'll do the regular fixes including ---> run as admin' verify game files' restart pc' reinstall game' turn off background apps' change settings' make even more room on my ssd' join when theres 70- players online' and more iv'e more than likely forgotten about. and the funny thing is that it worked alright before i got a ssd what was about 2.5 months ago. but after i installed rust on my ssd i played for the first time with my ssd and it worked fine but now nothing. SOOOOOOOOOOO basically after an update it needs more ram or something it said it appears you have less then 10GB of RAM. So i dont know its really frustrating because most games need minimum 8GB to 16GB of RAM but nah. i think facepunch need to optimise there game because a large chunk of pc gamers have 8GB of RAM. anyway thanks for reading and sorry for rambling.

    Jake.
