Simple idea to balance zergs as well adding a cool mechanic Posted: 30 Jul 2020 08:41 PM PDT I was reading some post about balancing grouping advantages and some dude suggested adding a craftable item that would enable the team indicator (instead of just given natively) I found that pretty cool, since it'll add a cost that scales with the group size. But beyond that, it would be pretty cool if anyone could steal this item (like a dog tag). This creates a whole new scenario, which solos or smaller groups could steal a dog tag during a fight to disguise as another team. You can even use this mechanism for a bounty scheme, as people could put a price on your dog tag (or whatever identification we come up with). What do you salty nakeds think? [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Jul 2020 10:05 AM PDT EDIT: According to commits, advanced and superior tiers were removed, bringing the amount of berries for the highest tier down to manageable 125. Everyone is saying that the teas will be op, and they're partially right. the pure max health tea is easily the best tea, giving players 120 max hp for 10 minutes. Second place goes to the pure ore gather tea, which increases ore gather rates by 50%. (I have not tested this in game, so I'm not sure but I guess this means you get 450 sulfur per node instead of 300) However, nobody is considering the immense amount of time and resources you have to invest to produce a pure tea. First, some background info: There are 5 tiers of tea: normal, greater, advanced, superior, pure mixing a normal tea requires 5 berries, and mixing each successive tier of tea requires 5 of the previous tier. This means mixing a greater tea takes 5 normal teas, mixing an advanced tea takes 5 greater teas, etc. Therefore, a pure tea takes 3,125 berries. At a stack size of a mere 20, storing enough berries for a single pure tea takes over 5 boxes of storage! Berries can be crossbreeded to give better yields and growth rates just like hemp can, so teas basically require all the infrastructure and investment of a farm base. Not to mention that a max health tea needs red and yellow berries, which means you need to crossbreed perfect genes for both berry types if you want pure teas. That's not all! Mixing one tea takes 5 seconds. To mix a pure tea, you need to mix first 625 normal teas, then 125 greater teas, then 25 advanced teas, then 5 superior teas, then the holy pure tea, adding up to a total of 776 teas. at five seconds each, it would take over 65 minutes! I believe you can mix up to 10 teas at a time for 50 seconds, meaning you have to manage the mixing table every 50 seconds for over an hour to get a SINGLE pure tea. That is if you have only one mixing table. Realistically, I don't think you should try to make a pure tea unless you have at least 6 tables: splitting the time investment evenly, but making the work even more tedious. tldr; pure teas take hours of crossbreeding, cloning, farming, and mixing to produce, and are unviable except at the clan level, where you can spare a person or two to farm hemp and berries while mixing teas. The whole tea system needs a lot of polish and QOL changes. [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Jul 2020 08:29 PM PDT A friend and i are thinking about getting rust just wanted to ask a couple questions. Is the game already past its heyday and on a downward spiral? How bad are hackers/cheaters? How hard is it to find a non-official server? [link] [comments]
