    I'm not a fan of BattleMetrics, so I made a simple server-side plugin to prevent players from being tracked on my friend's server

    TLDR: Here is the plugin that prevents external services from tracking players in your server via Steam Queries

    To give some context for those unfamiliar with BattleMetrics, it is site where you can search details about the servers you are playing on and the players on actively playing on it.

    The drama behind BattleMetrics for games like Rust and Ark is that it makes it easier for people to harass others due its extensive player-tracking via stalking or stream-sniping.

    On top of that, this behavior is encourage and monetized by them offering a subscription service that sends SMS messages to a user when a player has joined a server.

    I have also seen other players used BattleMetrics specifically for figuring out who is worth online raiding (by total playtime on the server) and when they are unavailable for offline raiding.

    ​

    While harassment and stream-sniping is unavoidable, we can at least make it harder.

    So I've made a extremely simple plugin for servers that are running uMod/Oxide on their servers that anonymizes the name of all the players on your server to the same one.

    This works in the case of BattleMetrics because like many other external services scraping your server data, they rely on Steam Server Queries. Because Oxide patches the assemblies the your server is running, we are able to edit what the server is sending back for these queries.

    Disclaimer: For servers that pay for BattleMetrics for their RCON service, this does not apply seeing as you are already compromised by letting them read your server logs ;d Otherwise this works for the 99% of other servers looking to try the plugin.

    Here is the plugin that you can download and place in your Oxide plugins folder: https://github.com/bbckr/umod-plugins/blob/master/plugins/StreamerFriendly.cs (be sure to save as the same file name).

    Feel free to change the name in the plugin from "StreamerFriendly" to a more generic name.

    May add some more enhancements that will randomize the name or add other server-features for ensuring the privacy of players on your server.

    Edit: Looks like my friend's server got deranked/hidden from the default server list BattleMetrics for "false player count" despite the count remaining unaffected. At least that solves the issue in yet another way, huh?

    Hazmat suit currently replacing road sign armour?

    is it just me that feels like since the hazmat suits been in the game its been used far too much over road sign gear, and that people are going from hazmat to metal armour and completely skipping road sign? surely making the protection values 25 instead of 30 all around would simply fix this. let me know your ideas im curious.

    I really want to change my character, I'm tired of being a bald, short Asian lady. I understand that most people say "You get covered by armour so It doesn't matter" But to me it does, if I pay for the summer dlc I expect to be able to use the male speedos as well as the fact that stream snipers can hunt down permanent avatars regardless of that streamer mode crap.
