RANT: Why this will most likely be my last force wipe after 1200 hours over 5 years Posted: 24 Oct 2020 11:38 AM PDT I just want to start off by saying that I play a lot of hardcore games Tarkov, Dayz etc. When I first started it was a very simple game my cousin wanted me to try out. At the time it seemed kind of like Minecraft but with somewhat better graphics. I played off and on until about mid 2018 where I tried playing the game more and more. I was on a 2x gather vanilla server and placed a 2x1 in a small wooded area. Some kid came up to me and asked if I was friendly and told me that all the bases in the area were friendly to each other which I thought was odd. Naturally I replied yes I was and was new to the server. A lot of people in the area were friendly. A lot of us would commonly do trades and help each other farm resources. Fast forward to now and I say hello to anyone on almost any server and they kill me for no reason. Zergs make bases on spawn beaches to shoot any players that spawn. A clan almost always loots monuments and if they aren't looting it they are camping it. The game seems to be less on interaction and more on Killing anything and everything to get what you want. I think it's ridiculous to spend 10 hours a week on aimtrain servers just to be able to put up a fight. Transportation used to be a very common commodity and would allow for a quick way to move around the map. The issue I see is that they blocked off the way into monuments AND locked heli's behind scrap paywalls. Again I see zergs camping Bandit and Fishing villages to get your vehicle. The car system is inefficient and would have been better with a put lowgrade in and drive system like helicopters and boats. I understand they are trying to remove the pvp only idea but with how they are currently doing it They are supporting it. If they want to encourage player interaction add a karma system. TLDR: the systems being added actually incentivize more pvp and ruin player interaction. thanks for coming to my ted talk [link] [comments]

Does anyone else miss the good ol' days? Posted: 24 Oct 2020 09:49 AM PDT This is just a general discussion for the sake of curiosity... Any of you miss the days where there were like 3 main monuments where there was always some good PVP going down and massive maps where people would setup settlements of bases and you'd often befriend your neighbors? There was a ton of open space and spots to setup remote bases that would get pretty low foot traffic... I actually liked that you travelled everywhere on foot. It made it so the maps were massive. If you ventured out far it was like an exciting planned venture with your buddies. So many chances to get in a fight and lose it all on the way back. I remember times where I'd hear people in the pitch black night while I was completely stocked with mats and the adrenaline would just be through the roof because the stakes felt so high. Plus it was a ton of fun to have your own quarries setup to defend and run a whole operation with the team. Don't get me wrong, there are so many dope things they've added. A lot of positive additions and system tweaks, the monuments are cool, but with horses, mini's, and cars, the maps just got super tiny. Now we have like 10 monuments too, which means basically anywhere you build, you will get raided. Like absolutely will. Maybe it would be better if the maps randomly generated with some of them but not all? So it sort of forced an entirely different gameplay. A faster, more offensive play. Less of the PVE element, less about survival, being sneaky or creative with your base location. More about straight up raiding and PVP. This is definitely not a complaint or me trying to be super critical of the devs, I'm just wondering if any of you miss those elements of the old game? [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Oct 2020 02:51 PM PDT I've noticed that over the last 6 months as the game is updated for the better spawning on the beach might be an antiquated mechanic. Every "zerg" wants or needs to be by necessity a beach. They need flat land. The beach also offers the main mode for transportation to Rigs and cargo. So spawning on the beach gets well not enjoyable. Sometimes you spawn in massive compounds or outside of them. You get roof camped etc... Maybe make spawning on those badass new trails. Any thoughts? Posted: 24 Oct 2020 05:34 PM PDT ngl i love horses am super happy that i will be able to buy them Ok horses now cost scrap. we got a fix for most of bandit camp murdering me while riding, and putting my horse under a structure? i can get through all of outpost without a hitch on a horse but bandit is like a minefield on a horse. Posted: 24 Oct 2020 04:53 PM PDT So hear me out: we have Night Vision Goggles, which are great and all, but no NV scopes. In my personal opinion, these wouldn't be game breaking, but would definitely be a nice little addition. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Oct 2020 04:45 PM PDT Lately, I've been having problems with opening rust, as the small window opens with the rust symbol on it, but the application then closes, and I can't play the game. I've checked task manager, and the rust client is still there, but it does not load rust. I enjoy rust a lot, and this is really frustrating. Does anyone know how to fix this? [link] [comments]
