    Here is the loot table. Wood armor, t-shirt, melee weapons, handmade sight all above 10% chance. The Supply smoke grenade drops from military / elite crates with 1 / 4% chance. So what it's going to be: an early-game kickstarter crate, or something worth calling down on your base?

    You log on , it's Friday morning, 1 day into a forcewipe, your team's already on, you haven't joined discord yet but you check the map , they are running launch , " wow ,the guys are actually doing stuff themselves without being told ". Everyone gets back and your 2x2 is stacked to shit , George says " there literally no space here , we need to build main " HOOOOOOONK , it's cargo , just came in on your side of the map too ! "Let's gooooo" is the battle cry of the Jammies clan.
    The boat house already has a RHIB the boys got of some idiots recycling at harbour. This cargo was meant for you . You're all geared up , heading out into the sunset towards the steal behemoth inching its way towards land . You're the first ones on , the dumbass blue bois stormtrooper scientists put up a nothing defence as usual, you clean up the ship and wait on the deck for the crates and counters.

    25 mins pass "Nothing but dumbass bow kids ! Fuckkkk" says George, infuriated , " it's literally wipe damn man wtf ". " it's stil early dude, chill , let's the kids wake up and farm for us . They'll bring the kits to us soon enough ", you say , trying to look at the bright side. Crate loot is shit too , everyone's pissed , " omg I got it ! " you shout ! Everyone's waiting to hear what it it ! " 5 f1 nades of this blue boi !" unimpressed clan is unimpressed You all get to the back of the boat, eject and pickup your old boat in the way back (ez boat profit ). You u pass by rig , u here splashes in the water , there's people on it! Your team is starved for action, it's not even up for discussion , you don't give a shit about the cargo loot. Pull up at the dock , but it's dead silent now , they're hiding . What fucking pussies . The situation just went from fun pvp, to , we're all gonna die here to incend DBs ... " na I don't like this , let's gtfo " you command everyone , You pop 4 smokes on the floor above to give u enough cover , "they didn't have AKs or bolties , so I guess we're good ? " u think to yourself. The engines start and you push off , JUST in time too as u spot a scrap heli coming in from shore ! But something's up , it's turning towards you now . You could outrun it , but billy forgot to bring extra fuel like always and it's between you and the direction the base is in. "We're gonna have to push through this "... " we have enough ammo and meds " ... it's settled , you're gonna take your chances vs the big boi rather than be stranded out at sea with no fuel. You rush towards the biggie. They start shooting ! Mp5s and Thompson's ! And to THINK u were worried for a min there . Ha ! You all laugh after the first shot is shot. Fuckinf peasants wanna go ? Wanna fight dumbass ? ... they tuck tail and GTFO ... but not before emptying almost all their ammo on you guys ! Not an issue you have enough meds, OR HAD. To be entirely accurate .everyone's alive but the meds are goneskis. You all pull up at the boat house . "Man we really need to put in some spawns and kits in here ".... says George . You:" yea , we do ! Who's gonna do it ? " pin drop silence BOOOOOM The deafening silence of procrastinating gamers is torn to shreds by a massive explosion. You rush out towards the 2x2 , there's a guy standing on it , 4 bullets and there no longer a guy standing it . (I legit laughed while writing this lol ) " these idiots find 2 c4 and think they're hot shit " says George as he moves towards the back of the base. Buuuuuurrrt there's 3 idiots behind the base just hiding , George goes down . You flank around the Outer tcs and take the 3 out ! " all clear " you yell out as your other 2 team mates rush in to check the dmg to the base and see if anything needs to be patched , the doors are still on as they make their way through the air locks , u can see them through the shopfront as u stay outside keeping an eye out for counters . boom . You here an explosion and fear the worst , it's confirmed when u see those 2 green name tags on the bottom left TEAM UI , turn Red , " THERES FUCKINF 6 -7 IN THERE" .More guys come pouring out like it's a tiny clown car. It's the Chinese Zerg and they just rocketed your entire team , there's no respawns , there's nothing , just you and a 5 man Zerg in you base on a fucking low pop 100 player max server ( ikr) . You climb up the ladder and stare at the Triangle hole where your roof used to be. You're shaking . . It's all on you , but your gun doesn't even have enough bullets go kill all of them in one mag even if you could ! And you have no meds left either . Little beads of sweat inch down your chin as you're processing all of this . All your progress , all the scrap and bps you fought all of wipe day to acquire all gone ? All for nothing ? THATS IT THATS WHEN ! when it hits you . The 5 F1 grenades you picked up as a joke from the cargo scientists . There's no time to think . They're all in there , their team mates would be back any second . You start yeeting the nades in , there's dead silence on discord . One after the other , the nades go in , Tuuuuuurrrrt \ *Tuuuuuuuurrrrrt* Hit markers , ALOT OF THEM . "OMFG I KILLED THEM ! " " I killed them all " You wanna jump in so bad , u wanna get in there and clean it all up but no , all your years of gaming and LIFE have taught you one undeniable fact , which is " there's always one left " Realising this , you put the Thompson away and take it out , THE DOUBLE BARREL , WITH INCEND SHELLS. And you jump . *bam bam * you see him crouched on the shelf starring at you like a retard. All his friends are dead , he has his DB OUT TOO . But he's missed both his shots . BOOM . A single tap to the head sends his ass to the respawn screen. It's over , ITS OVER . you did it . You 1v5d the Zerg and WON . The boys lose their shit . " patch it patch it patch it " they yell , as you're already sealing the base up and repairing the walls. It's over . You won . You start doing your favourite thing ever in rust , collecting AKs, off the floor and outta the hands of your dead enemies. You check the bodies , STACKED with your shit , rockets , c4 , the works! "All for a 2x2 ... fucking idiots" you exclaim and smirk , That's when you notice it , one of the bodies has a note . You open it . And it reads " how u doin "

    Hi r/playrust!

    I have a bit of a random request for you;

    For my university I'm doing this ethnographic research, researching a certain 'subculture' and due to the corona limitations I chose to research Rust-players since this would be easier to do online.

    Now, I have to include research observations in here, so maybe anyone in this subreddit has recorded themselves playing Rust, or is willing to record themselves playing Rust, since this would be perfect non-participatory research material for me to study you: a Rust-Player!

    So my request would be; could you maybe send me a bit of footage of you playing Rust? Preferably parts where you perform your Rust-Routine or Interact with players. Also doesn't have to be a very long clip.

    Do any other solos use this strategy?

    The last couple wipes (I play vanilla monthly) I've decided to make my starter base my main base. Being a solo progressing from the starter base to an adequate main ive noticed I almost always get raided soon after moving into my main. Instead of doing that, the last couple wipes I've decided to hide my starter base in dense trees or in secluded spots and I've been having a lot more fun playing the game. Don't have to worry about endless crazy upkeep, farming too many mats, etc. obviously a gamble though!

    New game mode suggestion

    Listen hear me out,

    I love rust but I'm starting to realize that I have some sort of bizarre fascination with rust pvp mechanics, and less of an interest in the survival aspect as I initially thought.

    I've been playing pvp servers, combat tag, battlefield, aim train etc. But those aren't played enough, and get stale after a while. It's just death match and 1v1s and aim train, the only closer thing to a game mode is gun game.

    What if facepunch, or community server, added a matchmaking server for a game mode similar to retakes in counter strike, but instead of the bomb being planted and defended, the defending side has to raid a base and fight off the counter raid.

    It could be in a small chunk of map, as to simulate a real raid on an official server. It being proceg gen would be even cooler. Raiders win by getting to the loot and tc room in the base, counters win by yoinking all the explosives or killing all raiders. Could be like a small 9 round thing, fast paced and switch at half. Both sides would have a base and a raid base to to secure loot.

    Y'all gonna flame me but I think this shit would be so much fucking fun.

    Just wanted to personally thanks the devs for adding weather.

    I feel like I can (basically) recommend this game now no joke. Some of the screenshots and feels I got the past day of playing with it has been some of the best of them all, hands down. Looks so...real and atmospheric in game now.

    Anyone actually dislike FP adding weather in general? I always found it so fake to be sunny all the time.

    When will we be able to paint our bases?

    I personally would love to see the ability to add paint to the outside of our bases. It would still be easily visible what grade the base was but it would add a splash of colour to the outside. I'm thinking that it could be like low grade and dye creates paint then you get a paint roller and can just paint panels.
