    Modular weapons are needed!

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 12:08 PM PDT

I remember hearing a while back about modular weapons, and I'm hoping the team is still working on this concept because the current firearms are old. I'm bored with these guns, and am disappointed in the game's lack of customization in this field. The level of customization that would come from this system would be immense, which is part of the reason why i believe this is taking so long. Imagine if we could remove the AK stock and add a shorter barrel at the expense of recoil and damage? Slap a 75 round drum on it and it's a draco! You could also incorporate minor balancing that are still realistic, like the drum mag jamming on occasion. Imagine if we could make a tommy gun! What if we could add barrel length and a tripod on the AK to control the recoil but make the handling much slower? Slap a 2-3 round burst onto the M96? Full auto to the M92? People look at these suggestions on the surface and say "thats not balanced" "thats too op" but fail to realize they could mod their own guns to counterbalance whatever is overpowered. Obviously, again, it would need lots of tweaking, but would be a welcome change.

The customization in regards to firearms doesn't have to end there, we could also add ammo types. Ammo could be made specifically towards certain guns (revolver:22 cal M92: 9mm Python revolver: 357 mag etc etc). People would say this annoying because of so many different ammo types and having to find them for each specific gun or gun type, but this issue could be fixed with the modular weapons system. Lets say you pick up an AK but cant find 7.62 (ik its 5.56 in game but 7.62 is the real AK caliber) put a 5.56 barrel on your ak (as an example) and you can use 5.56 rounds! The revolvers would be exempt for this as you cant change the barrel, but the rest could have interchangeable barrels.

Another problem is to achieve the fullest potential with the system you'd need someone who is knowledgeable in firearms to cover these fields. Typically gaming developers don't have this knowledge lol

Calling attention to the flawed experiments system

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 02:10 PM PDT

Now that there are many more blueprints in the experiments pool compared to in the past, doing experiments is simply not a good idea.

The problem is made worse by a couple of edge-case items that are simply hard to find, I'm going to use branch and root combiner as an example.

    https://rustlabs.com/item/electrical-branch

    https://rustlabs.com/item/root-combiner

These items and a few others are primarily found as a 1% chance out of brown boxes. Which means, if you're unlucky, you may not ever find these items.

Which leaves experiments or possibly player2player trading.

Given that there are now 88 blueprints at the tier 1 level, chucking 75 scrap on a 1/88 chance isn't scrap well spent.

Experiments really need to be split up into smaller pools/categories to choose from.

really retarded but potentially amazing idea

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 06:54 AM PDT

Ok what if there was a convoy that drove across the map like a huge truck that goes to and from bandit camp, like once every 5 hours. Then, if you manage to kill the driver or manage to blow up the truck, there will be a bunch of random things that are sold at bandit camp. so you could either get corn seeds from the drop, or maybe even a few minicopters.

    idk just a thought

    Questions about autoturrets and electricity.

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 09:29 PM PDT

Im coming back to the game and for the first time im taking a dive into electricity. I have an autoturret and it obviously now needs electricity to run, so I plug it in and... it works but just barely. Number one I set up 2 large solar panels on my roof, i live in the desert and theyre both facing directly into the sun when it rises. I can connect one solar panel to the medium rechargeable battery I have next to the turret, but cant connect the second one to anything. I also have the problem where my turret is now infinitely on unless I break the connection and I cant put a gun or ammo into it because I dont know how to connect it somehow so that I can turn it off with a switch or something. Any help is appreciated on how I can make this work, it shouldnt really be this complicated imo.

    Disconnect Glitch

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 09:06 PM PDT

I get this weird glitch where every time I try and spawn at a bag that I died far away from, I disconnect from the server. I'm not entirely sure why this is the case considering I have pretty good internet and this is the only time I disconnect. I was wondering if this could be fixed because it's getting really annoying have to wait through queues again.

    Teas vs Med Pens?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 06:36 PM PDT

Is anyone prioritizing teas over syringes? Why even put these in the game like this?

Seems to me that they'd be a lot more viable an option if the HoT they offered didn't stop every time you took damage.

That'd give them some sort of utility over syringes. As it stands now, people need reliable healing and the only reliable healing in the game is base healing.

    Rust+ pairing issues

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 05:06 PM PDT

Using the Rust+ app worked great ... at first. I paired it to my phone, and then I figured that I should pair it to my tablet, also. Well, only my phone will receive the pairing request for the server when I click inside Rust. Tried clearing cache / logging out / uninstalling on my phone, and it simply will not show the notification on my tablet so that I can add the server. Help!

Horses: why they are OP for the first 20 minutes of wipe

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 12:42 PM PDT

So... Horses are very strong early game, if you find a above average horse instantly thats an easy start for you. 1. You get the first oxums or supermarket crates and greencard 2. Satalite dish if available or just buy a bluecard at outpost looting all crates along the road 3. Get to a T2 monument like trainyard and run it 4. Get a redcard, enough scrap for a t2 (and maybe a gun) run rig and youre set

I had a teammate that had a t2 and guns 10 mins into wipe with this. Our group arived at the build spot and he already was on his way with the redcard and t2 from outpost. Did i mention how hard it is to hit a person on a fast horse with a bow going full speed? (Its pretty fucking hard)

So i kinda understand were FP is coming from but... Why not just have horses spawn in after 30 mins? They cant be used like this anymore because people are already set up somewhere on the map and all the monument have been looted.
