Biggest ever Mistake in Rust, destroying my group.

    Posted: 19 Jan 2021 07:59 AM PST

So I've played since legacy and it's time to confess my most regretful moment in Rust, If you have similar funny or cruel stories of unfortunate sabotage please share in comments.

I played with a large group on a monthly server for several wipes, one wipe they decided to build near bandit camp. This is where I discovered my love for the roulette gambling wheel. I thought because our zerg had 15+ active members that missing scrap would go unnoticed, but my urge to win back losses quickly became an obsession.

For the next month I gambled and lost all of the zergs scrap. When they first noticed, it was simple questions like where did all the components go and who has the scrap on them?

I was ashamed of myself and stayed quiet, when people asked me i played dumb and unknowing.

In attempts of covering my ass I even began blaming other innocent, poor members from our group, i blamed them for learning unessercary items with scrap. While they learnt pistol bullets for 75 scrap, I would be taking 1000 or 2000 scrap at a time, losing it all to the cruel wheel.

Every morning when I woke up, I would get the scrap and good components, then run straight to bandit camp hoping to make my fortune, but I always came back poor and empty handed. I had feelings of regret and worthlessness, I said to myself, its a scam ill never gamble again but.. the very next day there i would be, recycling and gambling all the clans scrap.

The zerg leader started locking all the scrap in the explosive room, giving only the leaders the door code. But I was one of the leaders, so my madness continued. For almost the entire wipe the clan was fighting amongst themselves, blaming everyone over who has been taking the scrap, but none suspected me at all. The big personalities began getting frustrated and clashing with eachother, after the wipe finished the entire clan split up into separate groups and disbanded.

It was not my intention to do deceitful things to my group and i didn't expect for them to break up. I dont know what came over me, I honestly believed i could win back my loses if only I had luck, but my luck never came and when it did, I lost all profits just as quick as I won them.

All up i reckon I gambled away well over 20k+ scrap, they never found out it was me.

The funny thing is, in real life I don't even like gambling. Thankfully i learnt my lesson and ever since that wipe, I've never gambled in Rust again 🤣

Also i imagine im going to get down voted for sharing this, so if you enjoy my confession hit that ⬆️, cheers

Add a server option to allow players to build on monuments/roads

    Posted: 19 Jan 2021 09:50 PM PST

I had a cool idea to make a base that would act as a checkpoint/toll on a road, taxing people passing through and even having a kind of ID system, but was disappointed to find building on roads is not allowed. Me and my friend who runs the server tried a couple different options in regards to plugins, but none would allow me to make a fully functional base, due to how rust handles building permission for things like this.
Adding an option to allow building on roads and monuments would allow for server owners to make more variety in their servers and the freedoms their players are allowed. I'm imagining more checkpoint bases like I had planned, people turning monuments like the dome or even launch site into huge compounds and many more.

idk how reddit works but get this attention pls
i'm surprised this isnt an option already

The Admin for the server I play on, asked for an animated version of their logo for Discord... For some reason they expected a "different artistic direction" ‍♂️
