Are you guys satisfied with building spots? Posted: 19 May 2021 12:50 PM PDT I stepped away from rust for a very long time and recently returned. I feel like things are more open now in terms of building. Before it was alot easier to be stealthy, and I feel like there's way too many huge cliffs and weird terrain. That, to me is the biggest turn off in this game right now. But on the bright side, the graphics are beautiful. I really like the tech tree idea as well as the lowered cost of guns and all that. Strange Rust Crashes Posted: 19 May 2021 07:10 PM PDT I recently got a new pc, so I've been able to play rust at a pretty good framerate. Unfortunately, about once every few hours, my rust disappears. There's no crash message, my screen doesn't freeze, it just closes. I've tried a lot of the suggested fixes, even editing the paging file, with little to no avail. I've also watched task manager, and nothing seems out of the ordinary. Hoping to find a permenant fix. PC Specs: Ryzen 5 5600x GTX 1070 FE 16GB 3200mhz CL16 1TB gen 3 NVME SSD Not sure what else to add here, I've been keeping all my drivers updated. Ping Restrictions Posted: 19 May 2021 06:58 AM PDT ​ Thought I would share some interesting data. On our sever, we are now blocking anyone with a ping over 130 ms Pings and no VPNs. This mainly affects Russia, China, Korea, and Brazil at a rate of 98%. EU 30% US < 5%. Cons: Lowered our wipe day pop from 200+ to 187. Nights on the server drop really low to 10 players. Pros: Overnight offline raiding has greatly dropped off. The normal loss of players after the wipe is 50% per day, we seem to have only lost 10%.
