    Please Facepunch Rethink Twitch Drops

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 11:55 AM PDT

Let me preface with thank you Facepunch. Thank you for creating a game that we all love, and thank you for doing weekly twitch drops for us to get free skins. However, I'm tired of seeing random streamers get drops who then choose to not even play the game during the week.

It bothers me because those streamers are just abusing the system. I'd much rather you guys create a system to pick new up and coming rust streamers or favorites, then for you to pick some assholes who can't be bothered to stream more then 1 day playing rust.

I understand picking non rust streamers with huge audiences once in awhile, but can we stop giving drops to people who don't play the game.

You really want to grow this game and help this community? Then lets find some unknown streamers who actually play the game and give them a spotlight to grow an audience organically.

I'd rather you find the next spoonkid then give some random league of legend streamers a bunch of free views so they can not play the game.

I can't be the only one who saw this thumbnail and title and though a rust movie was coming to Netflix?

A story in two parts. Funny how much the atmosphere changes when you get raided.

Round 9 of twitch drops was terrible.

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 05:50 AM PDT

Just wanted to state the fact that only like 3-4 streamers actually streamed rust so people can get a chance to get a f**king skin but for some reason, the girls that moaned every two f**king seconds into their mics while playing minigames and streamed for only 3 hours couldn't stream more than twice and also couldn't even try to stream when it isn't 4 am for me damn it. From the beginning, I knew that I will miss at least two skins because they'll stream on the last day but the thing that the 3 of them streamed for only 4 hours which left me unable to collect all of the skins.
To sum it up, I'm disappointed of you FacePunch for just giving random streamers that don't give a flying f**k about the game instead of doing something to compensate the fans that constantly wait for them to stream and get nothing but their day wasted.

My learnings in Rust in the first 30 hours

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 08:17 AM PDT

I played Rust for the first time on a Beginner Server for 30 hours after which my House was raided.

    Here are my learnings -

    1. Build near the river if you want if you want food/water in plenty. You will be able to build a base and get amenities very easily. If you just joined rust this perfect place to build. If you want PvP and access to Scrap and monuments you will have build near the monuments. You will die a lot as people near them tend to try harder.
    2. Don't try talk or trust people who are kitted/have a hazmat suit. They will kill you. Just shoot and don't stop until you or they are dead.
    3. Try different monuments 1 by 1 and learn about them. How to run up those monuments and loot spots. By the end I was able to try out lighthouse, junkyard, airfield, Dome and water treatment plant (no puzzles). I got the most loot from water treatment and dome but was the safest in lighthouse and junkyard.
    4. Sleeping bag is priority number 1. If you feel you will die somewhere make sure to leave a sleeping bag. Similarly when you spawn for the first time make sure to get those hemp to create that sleeping bag asap.
    5. Sometimes you will feel helpless. Your loot will be taken. But it's all part of the game. Move on.
    6. At the end of your journey you will be sad looking at the things you have built and now they are falling apart. But it's okay. Time to learn new things. More monuments to learn. Farming, electricity, aiming, juking, oil rig. So much more to do.

Looking forward to my adventures on the next server.

End game usage for bones and early game cloth ideas

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 04:05 PM PDT

I have 2 ideas I'd love to hear others thoughts on them!

    1. End game use for bones. At this stage there is only early game usage for bones. I like in rust how everything has a timeline. Like charcoal is useless in early game but you keep it till you really need it for GP. Same with sewing kits, early game they can be recycled for cloth and Late game they are needed for clothing and armour. But bones… no use end game, even mid game really.

I thought about like a early-late game grenade maybe that uses GP, frags and bones and has a shrapnel effect that may not cause a lot of damage but causes a lot of bleeding. It could also be fashion into a shotgun/eoka shell much like a handmade with the same bleeding concept.

Or maybe they could be used for decorative features to add comfort to the base.

Or maybe they can be put in the mixing table with water for a bone broth like a mid game med. Teas are only really options for people that can build a base to grow enough berries and get genetics right. Maybe a pure health tea is better than bone broth but bone broth is better than basic and on par with advanced.

Or perhaps a glue of some kind which can be used to repair boats/helis/cars quicker. Or with glue in your inventory you can repair your building at double the speed once out of building block

Glue could be made in the mixing table

Idk I just think it'd be cool to see them used endgame - not as necessary as charcoal but some use.

    1. Hot air balloons and other players sleeping bags are farmable for cloth We all know what it's like jumping into a server full pop just hours into wipe and there isn't a sceric of cloth to be found and all you want is 30 to drop a bag somewhere close to where you want to build. Or you've got 45 cloth and you just need 5 more for a bow.

Well what if you could farm up someone else's sleeping bag for 10-15 cloth, or farm up a hot air balloon for cloth? Both of these things decay if not near a TC so why not be of use to early game players struggling to find cloth and not kitted enough to attempt a recycle run for their first bag?

Anyways just some thoughts curious to hear anyone else's!

    Blood Effects on New Update

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 02:18 PM PDT

The new blood effects in Rust are bad. Taking tunnels in the snow with prim gear is a nightmare, I literally cannot see a thing. I turned off blood but the giant white splotch on your screen is almost as annoying.
