    Apparently when you look at a dropbox through a double door hatch, it displays the opposite side of the dropbox. This might be little glitch and probably is, but it might have some weird bunker applications if people do a little more exploring with it.

    Why are people so upset about the OTV-server kicking Rust veterans?

    It seems like a lot of people don't really get the purpose of the server. The streamers themselves are the main purpose. It's for people to watch their favourite streamer battle it out against other streamers. They want to watch xQc vs Myth or vs Pokimane etc. This makes for good content since they are all pretty new to Rust which also makes the fights more fair. As soon as you bring these Rust veterans into the mix, the server becomes very uneven as a some people will reach the endgame days before others. Since the gunplay also has a very high skill gap they will also win most of the gun fights. This makes it boring for both the viewers and the streamers since the Rust veterans will just dominate the server. Even if they try to play nice it simply won't work because in the end when things get heated, the hours that they've put into the game will shine through.

    Yes, the server is PvP-oriented and most streamers want to PvP, but that doesn't mean that it's fun to get wrecked by people who have more than 50 times your hours. For people saying that they are snowflakes for not wanting to get killed by Rust pros all the time: when you started out wouldn't you have loved a beginner server where everyone has less than 300 hours? I certainly would've, but instead I was forced to play with people who have thousands of hours, roofcamping, KOS-ing etc. Who cares if they don't get the "real" Rust experience. Most people don't want the "real" Rust experience and I don't blame any them for that because let's be honest, it is fucking brutal and I don't understand why I keep playing this game.

    Abe will probably add more people eventually, but for now it is easier to just remove everyone who has thousands of hours. It doesn't matter if they didn't tryhard on the last server. It is supposed to be PvP between the most "popular"streamers who also are quite new to Rust. If Rust pros want to join just to roleplay they will get invited in the future I'm sure.

    For people who say that the Rust pros are the only good content and the server will die even faster I will reiterate that it doesn't matter as most people watch because their favourite streamer plays it, not because of Rust per say. If the streamer has a good experience they will keep playing and their viewers will keep watching.

    I agree that some Rust pros are very good content, but let's face it, no Rust pro has viewership on Twitch even remotely close to some of the big streamers. These streamers are the ones who bring Rust to the top of twitch, not any of these Rust veterans.

    Sorry for the long rant, I just want to see less hate from the Rust community and for the Rust pros that are upset to be more understanding. I love browsing this subreddit, but it is so hard to keep doing so when I see so much hate against these streamers, especially regarding drops.

    I think facepunch should make it so when you look at someone through binoculars you get to see their name. What do you all think? Pretty useless item at the moment I feel like this could be a little useful.

    Unpopular opinion: Abe did the right thing with the OTV server

    I enjoyed the OTV server, but I find the OTV people unwatchable. Some don't want to even shoot a crossbow at a dog, and the ones that do play the game have never woken up naked and rock-farmed a 2x1, so their sense of progress and value is deeply broken.

    This go round, spoonkid was my favorite. He ran into Cowsep(a league of legends Master Yi one trick) and Cowsep said he's the only rust streamer whose content he watches. He was roleplaying and goofing off, which is what he normally does. It's a meme that Spoon 'sucks' but he still plays vanilla with snipers so he's an absolute fucking beamer and his game sense is great.

    I wish I could keep seeing these guys get to play Rust without stream snipers or cheaters.

    But the OTV server includes a lot of Among Us Andys. They are new, many don't even like Rust. They want it to be Minecraft with a texture pack. Even the ones that do like it are still new. Keep this in mind:

    New players always spend a lot of time on whack ass servers, and have whack opinions. They go to 5x pve servers, 5500 size maps with 20 pop, servers with /kit commands, servers with animals that don't move. They spend 150 hours just gambling.

    If some subset of OTV players get to spend their time doing whatever the fuck they are doing, eventually they will be captivated by Rust and want to play on real servers. Pokimane will never sweat on UKN to dominate wipe day on main.

    If we keep bitching that they aren't doing it right, we are being just as annoying. They will never come back to Rust because the community is so fucking aggro. And with them goes new viewers, new players, less toxic players, and even a place for streamers we love to play the game and have fun.

    Rust streamers wouldn't be annoyed about being kicked off a server that sucked to be on. It's annoying because it has potential and can be pretty fun for streamers.

    There needs to be a private server for Rust streamers to play on that isn't totally meaningless, but OTV is barely wanting to play rust, they want to talk to chat while Rust is open on their PC.

    Every new player says the shit these OTV people are saying. The losses are demoralizing. The guns are too hard. It's not fun to be robbed constantly. Someone said a slur in voice chat. Wipe day sucks because you want to keep your fort you built. Big clans progress too fast.

    Most of them will not be Rust players, the few that will need time to just sit with rust on their weird little server until they fall in love/hate with it.
